In Love on Tatooine

In the Imperial Palace.

Darth Vader glowered at the report. Another three inquisitors had found their eternal demise. Even though their order was to investigate only, the morons engaged Ahsoka. Seems, even a Sith Lord of his powers, can't fix stupid. He had given particular instructions, NOT to engage her, to track her down only. He had to find out first, if she truly was a dark side demon. Their death was the right reward for their disobedience and stupidity. He thought, he had trained his inquisitors well enough, but Ahsoka ,that Sith, that dark side demon, fought against more than 20 storm troopers and 3 inquisitors and walked away uninjured. Badly enough, it would take years again to train replacements for those inquisitors. As curious as he was who and what Ahsoka had become, more important was to eliminate whatever she was. When inquisitors were not suitable, someone else could try his luck, somebody whom he did not care about, but had been medically engineered into potentially the best bounty hunter. With his com link, he contacted Dengar, the bounty hunter, and granted him 500k credits when he brought him the head of Ahsoka. Ahsoka dead or alive. The 500k were jack shit peanuts for Darth Vader. He spent several 100M for various operations a year, but a 500k bounty would for sure motivate Dengar, contributing 120% of his capabilities.

In the VT-49.

Ahsoka got waken up by some penetrant beeping. She willed the beeping away, wanted to use the force to make it go away, if only she knew what it was. The beeping continued. It took her a while, until she comprehended, that it was the ships computer. Still half way asleep, she pulled herself up and entered the cockpit. There she realized, that the VT-49 had dropped out of hyperspace and approached Tatooine. There was no calling from any ground control, which meant, no automatic landing either. Ahsoka had to find the space port in Mos Eisley by herself. Pulling up the city list of Tatooine she quickly found Mos Eisley and had the navigation computer go for the city center. When Mos Eisley came in sight, she terminated the automatic flight and brought the VT-49 into the space port manually setting it a bit aside from the other ships (mainly freighters).

With nothing better to do, Ahsoka and Mike decided to stroll around Mos Eisley. The smugglers would meet in Chalmuns Cantina, so they were told. Ahsoka realized, that from the work they had been doing on the VT-49 it had gotten dirty inside. One thing she wanted to find quickly was a cleaner. There were boys waiting at the exit of the port offering their services. There was also one girl, maybe 8 years old. The Togruta asked the girl if she could clean, which the girl acknowledged. Ahsoka offed her 5 credits for the mere cleaning work and 5 more credits, if her ship would be spotlessly clean, means a bonus for an excellent cleaning job. Grinning from ear to ear, the girl hurried away, as fast as her little feet carried her, just to come back with water buckets and cleaning material two minutes later. The girl cleaned for more than two hours until the ship was spotlessly clean again. That girl squeezed her little fingers, loaded with a sponge into every impossible corner and crack, to get the dirt out. Ahsoka was delighted, she was sure, the VT-49 had never been any cleaner, not even when it left the factory on its virgin flight and she gave the girl the 10 credits with which the she left very happily. Looking after her, Ahsoka saw the girl about to exit the port through its pedestrian gate, where she had to give the guard some of her credits. Ahsoka was pissed, but decided not to intervene. She wanted to keep a low profile, at least for now. With the ship being clean, she could explore town with boosted vigor now. They locked the ship, the B2 being there to protect it, and left the port. When passing through the pedestrian gate of the port, they too had to pay a fee, seemed as it was their system, every time you leave the guarded port area you paid on top of paying for import of goods and bribery, off course. People with ships paid more than people just doing some small biz there.
