"Who's here?" Hunter asked.
"Markarth. Gordan, take them and get out of here. I'll deal with him." John said, and Gordan walked towards the door.
"Dad I'm not leaving unl-" "Go!" John said, interrupting Hunter. Hunter looked at his dad, and then ran outside with Gordan, Sophie, and Luke. John smiled and a tear fell from his cheek, as he knew it'd be the last time he saw his son. Hunter, Luke, Gordan and Sophie were across the street when the house exploded.
"Dad!" Hunter yelled, and started to run back but Gordan stopped him.
"No Hunter. You cannot fight Markarth, not yet." Gordan said.
"Get out of my way Gordan." Hunter said, as two of his other friends, Jasper and Chase ran over.
"What happened Hunter?!" Chase asked.
"Markarth happened." Hunter said with a growl, and they all heard an evil laugh.
"Run little piggys. Or you won't survive," a voice said.
"Everyone, run. Now!" Gordan said and the five friends ran to the edge of town, along with Gordan.
"What do we do?" Hunter asked, while running into the forest.
"I, am going to distract him. You five are getting to the safety of Dreydence." Gordan said.
"Gordan." Hunter said, stopping after a few more seconds.
"It isn't up for discussion Hunter." Gordan said and sniffed around, then put his paw on a rock and a portal opened up.
"Go. You are our savior. Our savior can't die already." Gordan said as Markarth walked through the bushes and stood in front of Gordan.
"But he will. I am going to kill him." Markarth said, and Gordan growled.
"I will not, let you kill Hunter." Gordan said, still growling and Markarth laughed, and a portal opened behind Hunter and everyone else.
"Oh I know you won't let me, but it's gonna happen anyway." Markarth said and everyone started to go through the portal, and Markarth advanced towards them but was stopped when Gordan jumped on him, and started to bite his neck. Hunter stepped through and watched as the portal closed, and the last thing he saw was Gordan getting thrown off of Markarth.
"Goddamnit!" Hunter yelled, and Sophie and Luke looked at him.
"Calm down Hunter. We'll find out how to help them." Sophie said and Hunter looked at her.
"I can't calm down when I'm losing everyone! I lost my dad, I lost Gordan, and soon enough, I'll probably lose you guys too," he said, looking at the ground.
"We'll always be here, no matter what." Sophie said, and gently grabbed his hand.
"Okay. I'm just scared I'm gonna lose you." Hunter said and looked at her, and she smiled. Then, Hunter started getting a small pain in his head and he winced.
"You okay?" Sophie asked, and he slightly nodded.
"Maybe, I don't know. My head hurts," he said and the pain grew worse.
"O-oh do you need to sit?" she asked and Hunter held his head with both hands, and could hear screaming in his head. Images flashed through his head of killings, darkness, and torture. He yelled out in pain and fell to the ground and Sophie kneeled next to him.
"Hunter!" she yelled, worried. A puddle of shadows pooled at his feet, and a girl in a purple dress with shoulder length white hair, and a silver visor covered her eyes, rose from the puddle.
"Eternity of Darkness, calm thy cries," the lady said, and Hunter stopped moving and fell asleep.
"What did you do?" Sophie asked, slightly angered and looked at the lady.
"Calm down, Miss Arkston," the lady replied. "I'm not here to hurt you," she added.
"How do you know my name?" Sophie asked, still slightly angered, and stood up.
"It's a Goddesses job to know her potential allies and enemies. And as for me, I'm Nox, the Goddess of Shadows, and Hunter's mother." Nox said.
