Chapter 7. Christmas Week

                                        4 Months Later
Hunter's eyes fluttered open and when his senses came to him, he could hear Christmas music faintly playing from one of the other rooms. He sat up and rubbed his eyes, then looked out the window to see a bunch of snow covering the ground. He stood up and looked down at his stomach, to see a scar in the shape of a circle. The day he was shot by an unseen sniper.
"Hunter!" Dom called as he fell to the ground. Hunter groaned in pain and the girl in Dom's arms woke up, and he gently set her on her feet, and he kneeled next to Hunter and put pressure on his wound.
"Dom... Dom it hurts..." Hunter said quietly as Dom picked him up and began to run to the hospital, Jinx following close behind.
"I know, but stay with me Hunter. Don't fall asleep." Dom said and kept running to the hospital.
"Ah, you're awake." Jinx said, standing in the doorway, bringing Hunter back to reality. Hunter looked over at her and slightly smiled.
"Yeah, I am," he replied.
"Good. I made something to eat, so get your butt out here and eat it." Jinx said, and Jinx went into the kitchen and Hunter followed. Jinx had been staying with Hunter ever since he was allowed home, and Hunter didn't mind. Hunter and Jinx had actually gotten to know each other, and were close. But Jinx had been keeping a secret for the last month, afraid it might ruin what they had. Hunter sat down at the table and saw the plate of pancakes, sausage and bacon she had made and put on two separate plates, and he looked at her and noticed she was staring off.
"You okay, Jinx?" Hunter asked and she looked at him and blushed lightly.
"Y-yeah I'm fine. Sorry," she said and she sat across from him, and Hunter narrowed his eyes slightly.
"Okay. But if anything is wrong I'm here for you, you know that right?" he said, and Jinx nodded.
"Yeah its just..." she said and sighed. "Living with you and helping you and getting to know you has been great, and we're close friends, and its actually gotten me to the point where, I-I like you..." she said, and Hunter blushed lightly.
"What do you mean Jinx?" he asked.
"Well you're a good looking guy, you have a great personality, and even your flaws are beautiful, and I wanna try a relationship between us," she replied quietly, blushing a bit more. Hunter also blushed a bit more and looked at the pancakes.
"Well, I'm glad you said it before I did," he said quietly and Jinx looked at him.
"You mean, you feel the same way?" she asked and Hunter nodded. Jinx smiled and stood up, walked over to him and kissed his cheek.
"That's good. At least it isn't awkward," she said and Hunter looked at her and smiled.
"Yeah. Well, if we feel the same way, will you let me have the honor of being your boyfriend?" Hunter asked.
"I would be honoured to." Jinx replied and they both smiled widely. They kept looking into each others eyes for a few more moments before Jinx blushed and sat back down.
"Don't be embarrassed, Jinx. I like you as much as you like me." Hunter says smiling. Jinx smiles and began to eat the breakfast she had made for her and Hunter. After a few, both her and Hunter had finished eating and they both put their plates in the sink.
"So, how does a walk through the park sound?" Jinx asked and Hunter looked at her.
"It sounds, interesting. Let me go get dressed and we can go for a walk." Hunter said and Jinx smiled and Hunter went to his bedroom and put on a light blue shirt and a pair of jeans. He then went into the living room and Jinx had her jacket, gloves, boots, and her blue beanie. Hunter grabbed his jacket, gloves and boots and put them on.
"Don't you need a beanie or something?" Jinx asked slightly tilting her head, as he put his jacket hood on and she giggled quietly.
"Come on! I love the snow!" Jinx said and gently grabbed his hand and walked outside after opening the door. Hunter smiled and closed it after they were outside, and they began walking towards the park. Jinx was humming quietly as they were walking, and Hunter kept smiling and listened to her humming.
"Hunter, what's your opinion on Christmas and the lights?" Jinx asked looking at him.
"Well, I think that Christmas means a lot more if you're with loved ones and friends you know? And the lights? Oh Christmas lights are beautiful when setup the right way," he replied, and Jinx was smiling widely. They reached the park and in the middle of the park was a pine tree, and it was decorated in lights and a big star was on the top of it. Dom, Jasper, Eli, Chase, Lucy, and Luke were under the tree, watching Hunter and Jinx.
"Wow. That tree is still beautiful." Hunter said and Jinx nodded, and they reached the others.
"Woah, wait, something is different guys." Luke said.
"Yeah. Jinx and Hunter are holding hands~ Heheheh~" Eli said and Hunter glared at her.
"Oh leave them alone Eli. You know they probably kissed instead~" Lucy said teasingly, which made both Hunter and Jinx blush.
"Alright alright, come on you two. Anyway, Hunter, I need to talk to you about something." Dom said and him and Hunter walked away from the others a bit.
"So, I've had a contact in Cilan for a while, and he got back to me today." Dom said.
"What did he say?" Hunter asked.
"Well he said the Cilanians have been more rowdy than usual. He found out why. The Cilanians are preparing for war. With us. And Markarth's son is leading them." Dom said, and Hunter looked at him with widened eyes.
"That's not good." Hunter said.
"No it isn't. I've been training people for this moment, just in case. We have a thousand trained fighters ready to go." Dom said.
"Good good. Keep on it." Hunter said and looked at a bench, where a suspicious looking man was sitting. The man then looked at him and Dom, and raised his hand.
"For Cilan!" the man shouted and and a lightning bolt struck him and then exploded outward, and Hunter was thrown back, and blacked out.
