One Year Later
"Drinks on me!" a brown haired Spanish looking male had said, and it had earned a chuckle from Hunter. He knew the man, as he has been staying at a resort for a year now. The Hanging Gardens in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia.
"You see Ricardo, keep putting the drinks on your tab and eventually alcoholics will come running." Hunter said to the brown haired man, Ricardo.
"My job is enough to pay for the whole country Hunter, and then some." Ricardo replied and sat next to Hunter and they both laughed. A woman in a two piece black bathing suit sat next to Hunter, and she smiled at him. Hunter smiled back and looked at Ricardo, and he smirked and stood up.
"Good luck, amigo." Ricardo said and walked off in the direction of the pool.
Hunter looked at the woman and she was now sipping a margarita and looking at him. She smiled and stood up and started walking away, but looked back at him and Hunter smiled. He got up and started to follow her and she turned a corner and he lost view of her. He turned the corner also and the woman pushed him up against the wall and Hunter chuckled and looked at her.
"Alright either you want me dead or something else," he said and the woman smiled.
"Well, one of those is right," she replied.
"Well then what is it?" Hunter asked. The woman's brown eyes stared into Hunter's blue eyes, and her brown hair flowed with the wind.
"I want to help you. You clearly need it," she said.
"Help? I don't need help. I'm fine here." Hunter said.
"That's the problem," someone said from beside Hunter said. He looked over with a cocky smile and saw his father. The smile instantly went away and his eyes went wide.
"D-dad?" he asked.
"Do you honestly think the Grim Reaper can die?" John asked. The girl let go of Hunter and Hunter faced his dad.
"Yeah by the way, how's that secret going for you?" Hunter asked, a tad angry.
"I was going to tell you at some point." John replied.
"Yeah, when? When I was on the brink of going mad?" Hunter replied.
"Your powers are manifesting. Were, manifesting. They stopped when you left Dreydence. Left Dom, Eli. All for what? A broken heart?" John said. Hunter pushed him into the wall.
"It wasn't just because of Jinx! It was because Dreydence, reminded me of you. Dreydence reminded me of how mom wasn't there. It reminded me of Sophie's death. So don't tell me it was because of a small heartbreak!" Hunter yelled and John kept looking at him.
"You got that off your chest? Or do I need to have Elisa restrain you?" John asked.
"She doesn't have to do anything. I'm not going back to Dreydence." Hunter said.
"Dreydence is at war. You, are the only thing that can stop it." John replied.
"What Dom can't take care of it?" Hunter asked.
"Gryffen won't stop until you are dead. That means he'll kill Dreydence if he has to." John replied and Hunter sighed quietly.
"Fine. I'll go get my stuff." Hunter said and John nodded, and Hunter headed for his room. After a few minutes Hunter got to his room and started to pack his things. After he was done packing, Hunter had changed into a different outfit. He was now wearing jeans, black and white sneakers, a light blue t-shirt, a black leather jacket and a beanie.
"Please tell me you're ready." John asked through the door. Hunter zipped his suitcase and grabbed it and opened the door.
"Yeah I'm ready." Hunter said and Elisa was next to John wearing a somewhat tight red shirt and black skinny jeans.
"Good. Now, let's go." John said.
A day later
John, Elisa and Hunter arrived at the gates of Dreydence. Hunter stopped the car and got out, baffled at what happened. The gates were smashed, and the walls look like the walls had been shot with cannons.
"What the hell happened here?" Hunter whispered, and then he heard a woman scream. Hunter ran into Dreydence and saw three men surrounded a woman. Hunter ran over and looked at them.
"You three better back off, right now." Hunter said, and the three men looked at him.
"Oh look at this. The supposed savior, of Dreydence. Hah. Yet the savior doesn't save his own town," the first man said and Hunter growled.
"Get away from the woman, or I swear I'm going to hurt you so bad you'd wish you were dead." Hunter said and the men laughed. The first man then charged at Hunter with a knife made out of bone and swung it at him. Hunter dodged and kicked the man in the gut and then in the face.
"You're gonna pay for that," the man said and got up, and Hunter now had a shadow knife in his hand. John and Elisa had stopped the other two men from interfering, and the first man scoffed.
"Alright then boy. Let's get this over with," he said and swung the knife at Hunter again but Hunter caught his arm, hit the knife out of his hand and flipped him onto his back and put the knife to his throat.
"Either you tell Gryffen that I'm back and ready to fight, or you refuse right here and I kill you." Hunter said and the man looked at him. Hunter was staring at the man and the man nodded.
"Fine, fine. I'll go to Gryffen," he said and Hunter let the man up, and he ran away with his buddies.
"Hunter?" Luke called and Hunter looked over to see Luke, Dom and Sophie walking over to him. Hunter was shocked that Sophie was there.
"Sophie?" Hunter asked.
"In the flesh and blood," she replied.
"What the hell happened here?" Hunter asked.
"Gryffen did. After he caught wind of you leaving, he attacked." Dom said.
"By the way, how'd that work out for you Hunter? Leaving?" Sophie asked and he glared at her.
"Fine. I'm here now aren't I?" he said.
"But where were you when Gryffen first attacked huh? Gone. You could've prevented this." Sophie said.
"Well maybe if I wasn't reminded of your death half the time I would've been here." Hunter replied.
"Maybe if you actually did a better job protecting me it wouldn't have happened." Sophie said.
"You know damn well I tried my best!" Hunter yelled.
"Well look where it got us!" she yelled back.
"Sophie. It's okay. He's just sad again," a voice from behind Hunter said. Hunter turned to see Jinx standing there. He stared at her, and everybody stayed silent and watched them.
"He just needs to be happy again." Jinx said slightly smiling. Hunter scoffed and started to walk away, and Jinx silently followed him.
"Watch yourself! Gryffen will be coming for you soon!" Dom called and Hunter waved. After a while Hunter reached his old house and went in. Surprisingly none of Gryffen's men had looted or destroyed it.
"I'm still really sorry." Jinx said and Hunter jumped.
"Jesus. Did you follow me all the way here?" he asked and Jinx nodded.
"I didn't want to leave. Honestly." Jinx said.
"But you did." Hunter said quietly.
"But I'm back. I know you're hurting. I know you can't trust me again, but I had to Hunter. I had to." Jinx replied. Hunter stayed quiet and Jinx stepped in front of him.
"If I didn't, my sister as gonna die," she said quietly and Hunter went to gently grab her face and she flinched and looked away. Hunter stopped moving his hand and slowly put it down.
"I-I'm sorry," he said quietly and started to walk away but Jinx grabbed his wrist and pulled him back.
"D-don't be. It's my fault," she said and Hunter looked at her. Hunter stayed quiet and Jinx kissed his cheek and Luke walked inside.
"Hunter... Gryffen is here..." he said.
