Chapter 8. Gone

"Hunter!" he heard his name echoing in his head over and over. "Hunter!" he heard it one last time and his eyes fluttered open, and he then sat up and looked around. The tree had been knocked over, and some civilians were on the ground injured.
"Finally, you woke up." Jinx said and he looked at her.
"Yeah. I'm fine. Help the civilians." Hunter said and Jinx nodded, and went to go help the ones who needed helping. Hunter stood up and Dom walked over to him.
"Someone used a Kamikaze Magic Blast. Lucky it wasn't full scale." Dom said.
"That was an act of war. We need to get the majorly injured civs to the hospital." Hunter said.
"Don't worry. Our transporters are already on it." Dom said.
"Good. This is not good. This is an act of aggression." Hunter said.
"You're right. It is," someone said in a snake like voice, and Hunter looked over to see three people. One of them was wearing a cybernetic outfit with a mask on, and the other two were just wearing cybernetic outfits.
"Oh damn. It's Viper, and his lackeys, Boa and Rizzah. They're world renown assassins." Dom said, and Jin looked over and noticed them, and rushed to Hunter's side, as did Luke.
"I'm glad you know us, because we'll be the last thing you see." Viper said. Hunter scoffed and took his jacket off, and cracked his neck.
"If Cilan wants war, they're gonna get one." Hunter said and made a hammer in his hand.
"Ooh boss, look at the pretty girlie. Maybe we could keep her for fun." Boa said and in an instant, Hunter was in front of him and smashed him in the face with his hammer, and sent Boa flying. Viper pressed a button on his wrist and made a cybernetic wrist blade, and tried to stab Hunter, but he dodged it.
"Big mistake buddy." Hunter said and uppercutted Viper and lifted him off the ground a few feet. Rizzah growled and pulled out two handguns, and shot at Hunter, but Hunter went into shadow form and walked towards him, and put his hand through Rizzah's heart and returned to normal, and Rizzah dropped his guns and fell to the ground. Viper and Boa stood side by side with their weapons ready, and waited for Hunter.
"World renown assassins, yet I'm an eighteen year old kid and I'm beating you. You're pathetic." Hunter said and dashed towards Viper and Boa, and slammed their heads into the ground and kept them there.
"You run back to Markarth's son and tell him that if he wants war, he's got one. And tell him that if he does this, he won't win." Hunter said and let go of them, and in the blink of an eye they were gone. Hunter sighed quietly and looked at Jinx, Dom and Luke, and they were smiling.
Hunter then gasped quietly as a sharp pain entered his head, and he started to see things again. More people screaming, more death.
Hunter yelled out in pain and fell to his knees as Jinx ran over and held him.
"Hunter what's wrong?!" she asked worried. Hunter gritted his teeth and punched the ground, and the screaming went away. He looked up at Jinx and stood up slowly, with Jinx assisting him.
"My powers. They're messing with me again." Hunter said.
"That's what that was. Okay. Hunter, go back inside and get some rest. I'll take care of stuff out here." Dom said and Hunter nodded, and started walking to his house with Jinx following him. After a few, they got there and went inside. Hunter pulled off his beanie, gloves and boots and headed to the bathroom. Once he was there, he closed and locked the door and threw up into the toilet.
After a few seconds he stopped and panted slightly, and then sat on the floor.
"S-so much death..." he said and shook his head.
"And that's how it'll be, if you don't accept us," a voice whispered in his head, and Hunter noticed a shadow figure in front of him.
"You think I'll accept you, knowing what you could possibly do? No thanks, I'll pass." Hunter replied.
"Fine, then suffer," the voice whispered and the figure disappeared and Hunter heard a knock on the door.
"You okay Hunter?" Jinx asked.
"Yeah I'm fine. I guess something just didn't agree with me," he replied and stood up, and looked in the mirror. He then grabbed the mouth wash and took a swig, and gargled it and spit it into the sink, and then opened the bathroom door.
"Oh, sorry." Jinx said and backed up a bit.
"It's okay." Hunter replied and smiled at her, and she smiled back.
"This whole thing is gonna be heavy Jinx." Hunter said quietly, putting on a serious face.
"I know, but I'm here," she replies, looking at him. Hunter smiled and hugged her and she hugged him back.
"Why don't we watch a movie?" Jinx says, looking at Hunter.
"That sounds awesome." Hunter says and smiles, and Jinx pulled him into the living room and turned the TV on, and put on a random movie. The movie happened to be Fast and Furious 6. Hunter and Jinx sat on the couch and began watching the movie. Jinx cuddled up to Hunter and Hunter wrapped an arm around her and they both smiled.
"This is so nice and peaceful." Jinx said.
"Yes it is. To bad peace doesn't last long huh?" Hunter asked and Jinx nodded slowly and looked at him.
"So, what are you going to do about Markarth's son?" she asked and Hunter looked at her.
"Well, I'm going to stop him. And if that means killing him, I guess that's what's gonna happen," he replied. Jinx nodded and then kissed Hunter's cheek, and pushed him gently down onto his back on the couch. She then laid on top of him and Hunter smiled.
"This is comfy." Jinx said, and Hunter wrapped his arms around her waist. After a few minutes, they both fell asleep peacefully. When it became morning, Hunter slowly started to wake up and he rubbed his eyes. He also no longer felt the weight od Jinx on him, so he opened his eyes and looked around.
"Jinx?" he called out, and stood up, and looked around the house, but couldn't find her.
"Probably went for a walk," he said and shrugged, and went to the kitchen where he found a note. The note read:
'Dear Hunter. I'm sorry that I had to leave like this, but it's the only way to help. I'm sorry. If there was any other way, believe me, I would've tried. Please don't hate me.
Sincerely, Jinx.'
Tears started to form in Hunter's eyes and he crumpled the note, and put his shoes on and grabbed his leather jacket. He then went to the garage and got in his car, turned it on and headed for the gates. Luke, Dom and Lucy were at the gates, and they noticed Hunter as the doors opened.
"Hunter, where are you going?" Lucy asked, standing on the driver side.
"I'm leaving," he said, and with those being his final words to her, he drove off into the deserts of Utah.
