Hunter had arrived to the gates of Cilan and faced his palms towards the gates, and shadow tendrils shot out and wrapped around the handles. Hunter pulled and the doors came down, and he then made shadow wings and flew a little bit above the city. He could see a crowd in the center of town, and a few people were fighting. He hovered above them and stared down at them.
"Hey!" Hunter yelled and everyone stopped fighting and looked up at him.
"Oh look, if it isn't the hero, of Dreydence. Come to kill us too?" someone asked, and Hunter chuckled.
"I'm not here to kill anyone unless I have a reason to. But you people need to understand something. Markarth is dead. Gryffen is dead. You people are free from fear. Free to do anything you want," he said, looking around.
"What makes you think this isn't what we want?" another person asked.
"The fact that Markarth made you follow him because of fear. He lead you down a dark path. I'm giving you the chance at redemption. A chance to be what you really wanna be. Just follow me to Dreydence. It's not as bad of a place as you think." Hunter replied, and the crowd was quiet.
"Could I become a Veterinarian?" a female voice asked.
"Yes. You could become the best Veterinarian in the world." Hunter replied.
"I could become President of a motorcycle gang that does rides for charities?" a deep male voice asked.
"Anything. Just follow me back to Dreydence and I'll show you. People aren't afraid." Hunter said, and everyone in the crowd smiled and Hunter started flying back to Dreydence. After a while, he got there and opened the gates, and Jinx and Luke were standing by the gates, and looked at the crowd that followed Hunter.
"How did I know this would happen?" Luke asked.
"Probably because I can do it." Hunter said and looked at the crowd.
"There are plenty of places open to live! So go find one, and get settled. Enjoy your new life!" Hunter said, and the crowd entered Dreydence and wondered in separate paths.
"Well, more people we could train just in case." Luke said, and Hunter nodded, closing the gates.
"Yeah, but let them get used to this first. They'll be skeptical, but let them figure out who they are." Hunter replied.
"Alright then. I'll go help them." Luke said and wandered off. Hunter looked at Jinx, smiled slightly and headed home. Jinx tilted her head slightly in confusion and followed him. After a few, they got to Hunter's house and went inside, and they took their shoes off. Hunter went to the fridge, opened it and looked around for a second before grabbing a can of Arizona Ice tea, and sitting on the couch and turning the TV on. Hunter and Jinx stayed silent, paying attention to the TV.
"You're not like you used to be." Jinx said quietly, and Hunter looked at her.
"What do you mean?" he asked quietly.
"You used to kiss my cheek after you did something good. You used to call me beautiful at all times of the day. Since Lucy died, you don't do that anymore." Jinx replied quietly, looking at him. Hunter sighed quietly, closed his eyes and looked at the ground.
"I have confidence because of you, and Lucy gave me even more confidence. But since she died, my self doubt has gone through the roof. I believe if I still did those things you'd get annoyed or you wouldn't believe in me anymore." Hunter replied, and Jinx kept looking at him, slightly tearing up.
"Why would you ever think that? I loved it when you called me beautiful, and when you kissed my cheek. I could never have gotten tired of that." Jinx replied and Hunter looked at her, and wiped her tears away.
"Don't cry. It's not good for the beauty," he said smiling slightly, and Jinx wrapped her arms around the back of his neck and pulled him into a passionate kiss. After what felt like hours for them but was only a few minutes, they broke the kiss and Jinx touched her forehead to Hunter's.
"Don't ever stop calling me beautiful, or giving me cheek kisses. I'll kill you if you do," she whispered and Hunter laughed and hugged her.
"I won't. I promise," he said and Jinx hugged back, smiling. They pulled away from the hug and Jinx cuddled up to Hunter and they watched TV for an hour before Jinx fell asleep. Hunter looked over at her and smiled before gently picking her up, and brought her to the bedroom. He laid her down and covered her up, and went into the bathroom and closed the door. Hunter took his shirt off and looked in the mirror, and noticed some markings on his shoulder.
Hunter lightly touched them and examined them, wondering what they came from.
"The markings will keep spreading until they cover your back, unless you accept me," a snake like voice said and Hunter sighed.
"For the last time, Spectre, I'm not accepting you. I'd rather die." Hunter replied.
"So be it. But the next time you call on the shadows, don't expect us to be so easily manipulated." Spectre said and Hunter sighed again. He took the rest of his clothes off and turned the shower on, and stood under the water with his eyes closed. He stayed like that for a few minutes before washing up, rinsing himself off and turning the shower off. He got out of the shower and wrapped a towel around his waist, and looked in the mirror before opening the door to see Jinx standing there, smiling at him.
"The worst part about sleeping is not having your partner next to you," she said and Hunter blushed and smiled.
"U-uh yeah, sorry. I was gonna join you after I had taken a shower," he replied and Jinx smiled widely.
"Oh don't worry. I'm awake now," she said and grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the bedroom. Jinx pulled him in and closed the door behind him, and then pulled him into a passionate kiss.
