Chapter 10. Legacy

"Alright then. Time to end this war." Hunter said and Luke went back outside, and Jinx and Hunter followed him. They reached to park where they saw a teenage kid, about 17 with blonde slicked back hair sitting on a bench.
"You see Hunter, I've been waiting for this moment forever," the kid said, standing. Lucy, Dom, Eli, Chase, Jasper and Sophie had followed Hunter and Luke.
"Gryffen, when we are done here, you won't be walking out alive." Hunter replied, staring at him.
"Oh Hunter. Little naive Hunter." Gryffen said and laughed. "There is one reason why I'll win. And you wanna know what that reason will be?" Gryffen asked.
"What?" Hunter asked and Gryffen had thrown something in Jinx's direction, but Lucy stepped in front of her and got a knife straight to the heart. Hunter looked at her and his eyes widened, and he caught her as she started to fall.
"No... Lucy..." he said quietly, looking at her. Lucy smiled at him.
"Hunter, it's okay. I promise it'll be okay. You just focus on the well being of Jinx, yourself, and your town," she said and a tear fell from Hunter's eye.
"I can't lose my best friend," he whispered.
"You won't lose me. I'll always be with you. In your heart." Lucy replied and she closed her eyes and Dom gently took Lucy from Hunter.
"I let my dark side rule, which makes me powerful, and not a coward like you." Gryffen said, and Hunter closed his eyes and stood up, and faced Gryffen. When Hunter opened his eyes they were completely black.
"Gryff, when we are done here, you'll be leaving in pieces." Hunter said angrily, and started to assault Gryff with slashes. Gryffen had made a shield out of lighting and blocked Hunter's hits as they came at him. Hunter then made a hammer and started to bash the shield with a lot of force, sending Gryff back a few feet.
Gryff had then made a lightning bolt in his hand and threw it at Hunter, causing him to fly back a few feet and groan in pain as the electricity coursed through him.
Hunter slowly stood up and Gryff upped the electricity and Hunter just smiled, the lightning not affecting him anymore.
"You see, I do have a dark side." Hunter said and walked towards Gryff. Gryff kept the electricity going and Hunter kept walking towards him.
"I just don't let it out. You know why?" Hunter said, standing in front of Gryff as he stopped the electricity.
"If I let my dark side out and you live, you'll be racked by nothing, but, fear." Hunter whispered in Gryff's ear and then grabbed him by the throat, and put his sword through Gryff's heart.
Gryff coughed up blood and gasped for air, but Hunter twisted the sword and Gryff stopped breathing. Hunter then dropped Gryff and looked at everybody, his eyes returning to normal. Everybody's expression was a surprised one, as Hunter's was different. It was cold, emotionless.
"War isn't pretty. Get used to it." Hunter said flatly and then headed to the mayor building, with Jinx, Sophie and Luke following him. Jinx had a worried look on her face but kept it hidden every time Sophie or Luke looked at her. After a few minutes the four arrived at the half destroyed building. Hunter went in and headed downstairs, to be met by a steel door with a keypad next to it.
Hunter thought for a couple minutes and then put in his birth date in and the door unlocked and opened, to reveal a big tube with a grey aura in it. Hunter walked up to it and half smiled.
"He really did a number on you didn't he?" Hunter asked quietly as if the aura was alive, and Jinx, Luke and Sophie looked at him in confusion, but stayed silent. Hunter opened the tube and the grey aura surrounded him, and slowly started to turn blue. After a while it was fully blue, and it shined brightly, causing Sophie, Luke and Jinx to cover their eyes. When they uncovered them, Hunter was looking at them with a cat on his shoulder. Although it was  a weird looking cat.
The cat had blue fur and wings where it's shoulder blades are, and it meowed quietly. Jinx gasped quietly and walked over to the cat and Hunter, looking at the cat.
"The aura is a... cat?" Jinx asked, confused.
"Yes. His name is Pharo. He just restored everything to normal in Dreydence. Everything is fixed." Hunter replied, and Jinx smiled.
"But we still have to deal with the outcome." Hunter said.
Jinx nodded, and got a sad look on her face.
"It's okay. Let's go." Hunter said and left the mayor building.
                                    A week later
Lucy had been buried in a cemetery that Hunter decided  to start. After the war, there had been a lot of people buried in the cemetery. Hunter and Jinx were visiting Lucy.
"Dom says there are still uprisings in Cilan. He says only you will be able to take care of them." Jinx said quietly.
"If I'm the only one that can stop them, then I will." Hunter said, looking at her.
"Do you want me to go with you?" Jinx asked and Hunter shook his head.
"I want you to help Dom here until I get back," he said, and Jinx smiled and nodded.
"I'll be back soon." Hunter said, and then headed towards the gates of Dreydence.
