Andrea Russett

The next day, I was being forced to leave the comfort of my bedroom in order to accompany Kian. He was desperate to fly back to Los Angeles. So, we packed our bags and booked the quickest flight back to Los Angeles, California.

The whole way there, Kian went on and on about how excited he was to see his old friends again: Jc, Ricky, Trevor, Jenn, Romeo, and so on. He had planned a party for tomorrow to see all of his friends. I was practically required to go, considering I hadn't seen half those people in a long time. I wasn't at all excited, because I've been "anti-social" lately apparently, according to Anna and my mom. I mean, I don't disagree. I have been pretty different lately.

"So everybody is coming at around 5:00! People will be bringing things such as alcohol, chips, salsa, you know. The usual!" He continued to go on about the party, "I'm so excited for everyone to see you again!"

I nodded, pretending to be interested.

"There is going to be so much alcohol! It's going to be so much fun."

"And what about those who are underage?" I mumbled.

He quit talking, and stared at me. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he just blankly stared, "are you okay?"

"Yeah." I shrugged, "Kian, some people can't drink. Trevor, Jenn, Rebecca, Meredith?"

"You told me yesterday that Meredith couldn't come."

"My point exactly Kian, she's underage! You are the one who chose to date her!" I argued as he pulled into the Walmart parking lot.

"So?" He shrugged.

"She's seventeen! You're twenty-one!" I continued, "do you even know how much that bothers me? Isn't that illegal or something? It's gross. You're dating a child."

"You're acting like a child!" He argued back.

I stiffened.

He parked and just stared at the steering wheel, "Andrea --I'm sorry."

I shrugged.

He looked at me, "ever since you woke up, you've been different. I flew all the way to Indiana to be with you. I'm in love with you Andrea, that's the whole reason I'm having a party! Just so that the people we're friends with can witness a proposal."

"What?" I asked, unsure if I had heard him right.

"God, Andrea. Don't make me repeat myself."

I looked at him, watching his eyes fill up with tears.

"I am in love with you," he told me again. "I got your parents' blessing yesterday. Even Anna approves, although she thinks we're too young, she trusts my judgement. I was going to propose tomorrow, but why propose if you and I are just going to fight over a past relationship?"

Quickly I shook my head, "no! I mean, look. I"m in love with you as well. And I'm just scared, okay? Meredith is really pretty. She is, truly. I mean, she's a freaking model! She's blonde, and just overall gorgeous."

Kian thought for a moment. "I saw this quote once. I believe it said, 'just because you don't look like somebody who you think is attractive doesn't mean you aren't attractive. Flowers are pretty, but so are Christmas lights and they look nothing alike.'"

I smiled, "you're so fucking cheesy."

He laughed, "it's true though, you are beautiful."

I blushed.

He thought for a moment, "now. Are you okay? You said something earlier about how it's illegal to drink under the age of --"

"Twenty one," I reminded him. "And I'm sorry."

"You drank underage before," he stated.

I nodded.

"So what's the problem?"

"I have just been moody lately. I started thinking about how gorgeous Meredith was and why you left her for me. I mean, she's gorgeous. So I just chose to be a brat at every moment I could, I guess?"

He laughed and kissed my cheek, "anyways. I'm running in to get some stuff for the party."

"I'll wait here," I smiled sweetly and kissed his cheek back.

"Don't go anywhere, okay?"

"I'll be here when you get back, forever and always, I promise."

He grinned proudly, "I love you princess."

"And I love you."
