Andrea Russett

Kian and I slept in my room that night together. Nothing sexual happened, considering my family was across the hall. But we cuddled, and it felt nice. I was finally home. And home is not always four walls and a front door. Sometimes it's two eyes and a heartbeat.

I stirred awake and found Anna standing above me, "hey, can we talk?"

I looked over at my alarm clock and discovered that it was 10:29 AM. I looked over to my side and frantically sat up.

"Don't worry. Mom and dad didn't kick Kian out, he's in the kitchen. They're making pancakes."

I sighed in relief, "okay, good. What's up?"

"I'm sorry for being such a bratty older sister yesterday. I was a complete ass to you and you didn't need me to dump all my anger out on you. I've just been stressed out lately. It's hard when your little sister just is gone for a while, then comes back miraculously. I'm scared to lose you Andrea, you're always going to be my baby sister. Okay?"

"You're such a sucker," I smiled at her, trying to lighten the mood.

"I didn't want you going against mom and dad's rules, because I didn't want you to see what everybody was saying. It was nothing bad, I just wanted you to stay here, not drowning in your phone or computer. I wanted to spend time with my little sister," Anna sighed, "I miss those days."

Sighing back, I sat up slowly, "then I'll do what you, mom, and dad say. No more technology, not yet at least. You have my full and undivided attention. What do you want to do today?"

"Actually you're already reserved," Anna smiled.

"What?"

"Kian called dibs on you," Anna laughed, "he wants to take you out on a date today."

"God," I laughed, "does he not remember what happened the last time we went on a date?"

"Yeah, which is why mom made him promise to be careful."

I couldn't help but laugh lightly, "of course she did. What's dad got to say about this?"

"He wants you to be happy, as always. And he thinks that you deserve some time with your boyfriend," Anna shrugged.

"He's not my boyfriend."

"You guys slept in the same bed together! And you kissed last night, yeah, he told me." Anna laughed, "don't worry though. He woke up early enough to lay on the couch, so that mom and dad wouldn't know you guys were in the same bed. He said you let him sleep on the couch.

I laughed to myself.

"Come on now, I'm famished!" Anna smirked and skipped out of my room happily.

I threw my legs over my bed and got up. I closed my door and stood in front of my mirror, then walked to my closet. I threw on some black ripped jeans. In my mirror's reflection, I saw Kian's suitcase. I smiled to myself and walked over to it.

Is this technically snooping? I mean, it's in my room.

Quietly, I unzipped his suitcase. I carefully rummaged through his things. I found his white and black striped t-shirt. I put it on, and put my hair in a messy bun, then walked out into the kitchen.

Kian saw me first, then my dad. Next Anna, then my mom.

"Nice shirt," Kian chuckled, "you have a good sense of style."

My mom smiled, "you sleep well sweetie?"

I nodded.

My dad handed me a plate stacked with pancakes, "here you go."

"Eat them, they're still warm," my mom smiled.

Together, we all sat at the kitchen table. Anna and Kian sat on both sides of me. Mom sat between Anna and dad, leaving dad between Kian and herself.

Kian put his hand on my thigh.

I loved when he did it, not as a sexual move, but in a comforting way.

Dad looked over at Anna and they began to converse.

Mom looked at me and Kian.

"You guys look happy," mom noted.

"Thank you, Mrs. Russett," Kian smiled.

"Kian, please. Call me--" she started.

"Mama Russett," he smiled, "just like old times, right?"

"Call me anything you want, whatever makes you comfortable," she smiled sweetly.

"Thank you." Kian grinned.

I looked at the two of them and then ate my food, listening in on their conversation every once in a while. When everybody was done, Anna insisted on doing the dishes alone. So, everybody else went into the living room and talked about random things.

"I was thinking," Kian looked at me, then over at my parents who were sitting separately, "that maybe I could let Andrea stay with me for a while? Back in L.A.?"

My mom looked at my dad, who was sitting on the recliner.

Mom was sitting on the love seat, while me and Kian were nestled together on the couch.

"What do you think?" Mom asked my dad.

He looked at her, "I don't care."

Mom looked at me and Kian, "if Andrea is okay with that, I am too. I want what she wants."

Kian looked down at me, then up at my parents again, "well you see, that's all I have ever wanted too since the moment I've laid eyes on her. All I have ever wanted is to see her beautiful face light up. Her smile just lights up my world, in fact, she is my world. And without her, I feel like the world would stop spinning."

I blushed.

"She deserves happiness more than anybody else," Kian looked at me and kissed my forehead.

"You are my happiness." I told him.

Kian smiled, "and you're mine."
