I unlock the door to my apartment and push the door open with my hip as I scan the envelope from my brother.  Stepping in and tossing my purse on the side table, I yank the door closed behind me.  Kicking off my shoes I make my way over to the kitchen and set the envelope down on the counter, before grabbing a glass and filling it with water.  "Alright brother of mine, what have you sent me now?"  I mumble to myself and pickup the envelope and dig in my junk drawer pulling out a pocket knife.

I stare at the invitation for a moment, before grinning.  I pull my phone out of my pocket and walk to the living room clicking his contact number.  It rings three times before he picks up,  "Hey there sis,"

"Well you took you're damn time, didn't you?"  I tell him as I flop down onto my couch.

"I'm guessing you got the wedding invite.  I know it took me longer than it should have, but I finally asked."  I can hear the happiness in his voice, and it makes me smile.

"Good for you Jake, I'm happy for you guys.  Make sure you tell Amber I said congrats."

There's a pause on the other side of the line and then I hear him sigh.  "I'll tell her."  He pauses for a moment and I sense what's coming.  "You are coming right?  We both want you to be there, Amber was planning to ask you to be her maid of honor."  I let out a long breath and look over to my table where several old pictures sit.

"I don't know Jake.  I want to but, I left for a reason and I don't know if going back is the best idea."

"Yeah, a reason nobody but you seems to know.  Look, I just want my baby sister to be there okay?  Please come Cas, it could be a good thing."

I pick up one of the pictures and smile softly for a moment before I set it back down.  "I'll think about it.  I'll let you know,"  I say before bidding my goodbye and groaning as I lean my head in my hands.  Only two months until the wedding and now I have to decide what to do.

I stand in the office in the barn watching Amber as she adjusts her dress.  I glance at the clock before turning to my own mirror and double checking my hair and make up.  "Elise, Cassandra, Faith, time for you girls to step out and be ready to walk down."  Amber's mother, Rylie, tells us as she stands next to her daughter helping her finish getting ready.  I nod and follow the other two girls out of the door, quickly closing it behind me.

I see my brother standing a little ways down the hall way next to his grooms men.  I walk over in their direction and stop next to him.  "Aren't you supposed to be headed down the aisle by now?"  I ask him scanning the area and freeze when I see him.

"Yeah, I'm headed there now.  Just needed to make sure everyone knows who they're walking with."  He gestures over to where Elise is standing with our cousin Robert, and where Faith stands next to Jake's friend and her brother Ian.  "You're with Matt, since he the best man and you're maid of honor.  Now I'll see you later sis, I really do need to head down there before somebody kills me for screwing up the schedule."

I barely nod as I try to remember how to breathe. He smiles and turns walking down the aisle to wait at the alter.  Of freaking coarse it had to be him, he's Jacob's best friend.  I let out a shaky breath and jump when I feel a warm hand on my arm.  I push away the urge to lean into him, and instead pull away trying to ignore the feelings his simple touch gave me.  "Cassie, are you ready?"  He asks as he reaches over linking our arms and pulling me in the direction of the aisle.

"Sure."  I whisper afraid of what I might say if I keep talking.  I walk along next to him briefly pausing to let Faith and Ian go ahead of us.  We make our way to the alter and pull apart to stand on opposite sides.  I can feel his gaze on me and squeeze my hand tighter into a fist for a moment before relaxing it.  I can do this, just stay here for the wedding and go home in a couple days.  Then it will all be back in the past where it should be.
