Sitting at the table during the reception I smile as I watch Jacob and Amber dance around for their first dance as a married couple.  Watching them dance around and Jake nuzzle his face in her neck whispering something in her ear that makes her blush and shake her head at him.  They slowly come to a stop and stand in the middle of the room for a moment before moving off to the side as other couples step out to dance.  They walk over and sit at the table next to me smiling at each other before turning in my direction.  "Thank you for coming Cas, I'm glad you agreed to come and to be my maid of honor."  Amber says leaning over and giving me a hug, she's changed out of her wedding dress and into a simple pale blue sundress and let her dark hair down over her shoulders.

"I told you I was going to come Amber, I was happy to be there for you.  You two deserve it,  I'm happy for you."  I tell her and Jake, watching as he presses a kiss to her temple.  He stands up and reaches his hand out for mine.

"Would you dance with me?  I miss seeing my baby sister."  I roll my eyes standing up and following after him to the dance floor.

"Congratulations brother of mine.  A married man, impressive."  I smile at him as we slowly dance around the floor.  "Twenty six and finally married, and it only took you five years to ask."  He scowls down at me in fake anger.

"Shut up, I know how long it took.  I've heard it enough times at this point."  He looks down at me and kisses my forehead.  "Thank you for coming Cas, I know you didn't want too.  So thank you."  We dance around for a minute not talking, until he talks again.  "You're okay right?  You didn't eat very much, if you want something else you can check the house."

I rest my head on his shoulder for a moment as the song comes to an end.  "I'm fine Jake, I promise.  Just tired and can't wait to relax and go back to my apartment."  I feel a hand on my shoulder and glance behind me to see Mathew.

"Mind if I steal her away?"  He asks Jake grinning, Jake nods and gives me a hug before turning back in the direction of the table.  Traitor.  Not that he knows why he's a traitor anyway.   I sigh turning towards Matt.  "Could you look any more enthused."  He says sarcastically as he scans my face and once over my body.  His smile falters slightly before he returns his look to my face.

"What do you want Mathew?"  I ask him as he rests his hands on my waist, I sigh putting my arms around his neck.

"Pretty sure I told your brother that.  I wanted to dance with you."  I tilt my gaze down staring at our shoes before starting to dance along with him.  "And I wanted to talk to you."  Of coarse.

"Matt...."  I trail off not knowing what else to say without giving everything away.

"At least tell me why you left.  I was worried about you."  He tells me gently tipping my head up, "Cassie."

"No Matt.  It doesn't matter anyway, I'll be leaving tomorrow anyway."  I feel him stiffen momentarily before he raises an eyebrow at me.

"So I take it Jacob didn't ask you yet?"

This time I raise my eyebrow at him waiting for him to continue.  "He asked for us to stay and take care of the ranch while they're gone for the week on their honeymoon."

I jerk back and glare at him.  "No. He didn't mention it,"  Mathew just shrugs and pulls me back towards him.

I feel his hands resting on my hips and the gentle movement of his thumb before it stops.  Closing my eyes I try to push away the memories that come with the feeling.  The time we spent together before I left.  His voice breaks me from my thoughts, "Are you okay Cassie?  You've lost weight, sweetheart."  I flinch at the term of endearment and look up at him.

"I'll tell you the same thing I told Jake when he asked if I was okay.  I'm fine, I just want to go home and relax."  I hear him sigh and step back, "Thanks for the dance Mathew.  I guess I may see you later than since we're stuck here."

I walk back to the table and sit down reaching over and flicking Jacob on the ear, before focusing my attention on the crowd of people missing his look of confusion.
