pArt 3

" please, don't leave me" she says

Dev hearing her pleading voice, felt compelled to help her. He tried to get away from her when he saw his daughter watching, but Maya wouldn't let go. " don't leave me A..r..j-" Maya stop what she was about to say. For some reason she didn't know who she was about to say.

Confused she back away while looking at Dev. While staring she had flashback, it wasn't clear, it was just a memory of her wedding, and a men, tall and built which is exactly like Dev figure, putting sindoor and kissing her forehead.

Dev turn to the doctors " what happens to her?"

" when she regain consciousness, she started causing a tantrum, it was like she was looking for someone. It seems like that person is you Mr.dixit "

Dev looks at Maya,  who kept gazing at him. He wonder if she knew he save her, but than again the doctors probably told her. " do you remember your name?" He asks

Maya still in memory lane, grab her forehead when it starts to throb, " m..my...name?" She questioned, searching for an answer,  while thinking she heard a male voice screaming Maya in her head.  Maya, that must be my name she thought.

She look at Dev before saying " Maya"

The doctor asks her if she know Dev  , Maya nod. Dev on the other hand was confused now. Soha watching was confused. She just wanted to spend a day with her father,  but things change.

The doctor says since Maya was OK, she's free to go tomorrow. .Dev was happy to hear that, the nurses grab her hand to walk her, but she refused saying she wants to stay with Dev. The nurses look for help.

Dev sigh " Maya, go with them, you will only be their for tonight." Maya didn't know, but she agreed anyway.

When she left, Dev look at his daughter,  " I'm  sorry the day isn't going right" " I will make it up to you"

" we have all afternoon" soha says

After spending more time with his daughter, dev got a call from the hospital. They told him maya was acting up again. Dev frustrated says his on his way. By the time he reached the hospital,  he saw maya looking both side deciding which way to go.

" maya" he says

She turn, eyes widen before running to him. " please dont leave me,  he won't go away. Make him stop" she says clinging on to him some more

" who maya "

" the voice it won't go away, make him stop!" She cried

The nurses came out seeing maya. They apologize to dev and grab maya hand " miss please come back, you cant be out here this late"

" no, let go. I won't leave, Dev! Dev...please help me." She yells scared

Dev seeing her so desperate stops the nurses. He told them he will take her  home with him. " but sir" one of them said

" its fine, she will only cause more trouble if she stays here"

The nurses look at one another, contemplating. Dev told them if things get worse,  he will bring her back. The nurses were still not convince. Maya clinging on to dev like a baby hides behind dev. The doctor came down the stairs " let them go, i'm  sir Mr. Dixit will take good care of her"

After signing some papers the two left the hospital. The car ride was silent the whole time. Dev kept glancing back at maya. Who was holding on to the seatbelt.  He wonder where she came from? And who she was referring to back there? Maybe she came from a wealthy family, or she got herself into a lot of trouble, he thought.

Meanwhile, ishwari was pacing back an forth. She check the time to see it past night time. Dev should have been back long ago, where could he be, she thought. She check her phone to see no missed calls and than she check for text. Not seeing any, she text her son once more.

The servant. bought another tea for her, and put it on the table. " my hair is turning grey just worrying  about that boy"

As soon as she said this, the door open. She got up and walk to the door " dev finally your home, i was so worried " she says looking at him. Dev surprise asks her why she was still up. " a mother never sleeps when their child don't answer there phone."

" i'm  sorry for making you worried" he says

Ishwari hugs him " alls forgiven,  now come. You probably haven't eaten"

" ma...actually i'm  not hungry "

" i guess you ate somewhere else, well you go an rest than" she says

Dev nod, he turn to the door before ushering Maya in. She shiver coming in the house. Ishwari confuse look at her in hospital gown. She look at her son " who is she?"

Dev rub his neck " mom this is maya, maya this is my mom"

Both women stare at each other. They felt weird looking at one another. Maya being polite stick her hand out " i'm  maya, nice to meet you"

Ishwari plastered a fake smile. " nice to meet you"

Maya thinking it genuine  smile back.
