Though the day I did everything in my power to avoid Ron. He was really bugging me and was acting like a complete fool! He kept following me, holding Lavender's hand tightly. He kept shoving his tongue down her throat in front of me. During lunch he even purposely sat Lavender down right next to me to push my buttons! He's was so immature!
"Your brother is about to lose an eye." I told Ginny as I walked into the library and slumped down in the seat beside her.
"So I've heard." She frowned, "He's jealous, that's all."
"I know he is." I explained, "But that's not a valid reason to act like a complete idiot. Not to mention he completely ruined my time with you-know-who after class."
"Ron is just protective I guess. He thought you needed help, even though Malfoy was clearly just going to ask you to the ball." Ginny smirked.
"Do you really think he was?" I asked, "I didn't think anything of it."
Ginny gushed just thinking about the ball, "Can't you just imagine? Masquerade themed! No one will know it's the two of you!"
A smile formed on my lips as I thought of dancing the night away with Draco.
"Speaking of, I need to buy that dress.""Let's go Friday! Hogsmeade is never as busy on Fridays." She suggested, "Plus Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff are playing tomorrow."
I nodded towards her, "Good plan."
When I looked to my right I saw no one other than Draco leaning up against a book shelf. He was reading Hogwarts: A History and seemed to be very into his reading. I remember I had told him a couple of lessons back to pick up the book and actually read it, considering he had never actually done so.
He's actually listening to me..."Well, well," Ginny said as she caught me staring at Draco, "If it isn't the Slytherin Prince himself."
As she said it, Draco's head drifted up from his book. His eyes immediately caught mine and he smirked widely before turning to Ginny.
"You know I can hear you, Weasley?"Ginny drew back in embarrassment, looking at me with wide eyes.
"So," Draco started as he closed his book gently and waltzed over towards our table, "am I always the topic of your discussions in the library? Or did I just pick a great day to be here?"
"You're so full of yourself." I pointed out with a sly smile on my face.
"And you're terrible at insults." He winked, then looked to Ginny, "I suppose you've connected the dots? I must say, you're a lot faster than your brother."
"The scarf gave it away." Ginny replied nodding.
Draco thought of that night and shook his head slightly, chuckling to himself, "I couldn't help myself. My Hermione was cold."
Did he just say MY Hermione?
I blushed at his smooth words, feeling myself fall deeper for him."I'm not going to tell anyone if that's what you're trying to get at." Ginny told him, "That's not my business to tell."
"You're smart." Draco smiled, "Unlike your-"
"My brother, yeah. I try not to claim him sometimes."
Draco looked to me with amusement in his eyes and pointed to Ginny, "I like her."
I smiled a bit before pointing down at his book, "I see you're doing your homework."
