As Ron and I were fighting off a death eater, everyone stopped. The death eater turned and ran outside.
Was it over? Was this finally over? Where are they all going?

Ron and I made our way outside and sat down.
As we waited for any sign of movement, someone tapped on my back.
Looking over my shoulder, I saw Draco with a slight smile on his face.
"May I sit?"
I nodded to him, feeling happy to see him.
Draco sat beside me and let out a sigh, "I'm glad to see you're alive."

"Same to you." I replied.

Ron turned his back to face us and tried his best to ignore our conversation, but he eventually got up and sat next to Luna.

Draco studied me closely, "He went didn't he? Potter left?"

I nodded, tears stinging my eyes, "We have to carry out Harry's wishes. After Harry, Nagini is the last Horcrux."

"No." Draco said, "I'm not letting you get near him and that thing!"

"That's not your decision now is it?!" I snapped, wiping my tears.

"Hermione." He almost whispered, "Let's just leave. Right now. Leave with me, and we won't have to even look back."

"Draco, stop." I cried, "I have to kill him. Ron and I are the only ones left who can do this for Harry. For everyone."

Draco nodded, then slipped his hand into mine. It felt so familiar. Like all of those times we used to hold hands.
"I just want you to know." He said, "I never stopped caring. I never stopped caring about you. You got me through some rough times, Granger."

I started to look around me. Students were eye-balling us, "People are staring."

"I don't care anymore. I don't care about blood status or popularity. I don't care that I'm a Slytherin and you're a Gryffindor. None of that matters. All that matters is that I'm here with you." Draco said, then he dipped down and kissed my cheek lightly.

"Guys!" Neville suddenly called, "He's back! They're back!"

Ron, Draco, and I stood up. There, in front of us was Voldemort himself and his followers. Although we snuck up on him while Snape was dying, this was the first actual time I've seem him face to face. I could tell Ron was a bit startled too, because he tensed up beside me. This went for the rest of the students too. As I looked carefully I saw that behind him was Hagrid and....Harry in his arms.

"Ron? Tell me that Harry is okay." I said.

Ron looked to me and then back at Harry. Without a word, he wrapped an arm around me, trying to comfort me.

"Harry Potter is dead!!!!" Voldemort screamed.

"NO!" Ginny wailed, almost collapsing to the ground.

I tried my absolute best to try and not make a scene.
Harry....I can't wrap my head around this
Through the crowd of students there were loud gasps and sounds of sniffling filled the air.
Even Draco dropped his gaze to the floor.

"From this day forward, you will put your faith...in me." Voldemort commanded.

The crowd fell silent, no one dared to speak.

"HARRY POTTER IS DEAD!" He screamed again, breaking out into laughter, his followers now joining him.
"Come forward and join us!" He told us, "Or die!"

No one from the crowd dared to move. When I looked around us, I saw all of the terrified faces of my fellow classmates. Some of the first years were holding each other in fear.

"Draco." I heard Lucius Malfoy called.

All of our heads turned to him. Draco looked as if he were going to burst into tears. My blood ran cold as I realized what was about to happen.
No.
Draco was still standing next to me, frozen in fear.

"Draco, come." His mother smiled.

"I'm sorry." Draco whispered, looking to me with sad eyes.
He then stepped out into the open space in front of us and made his way towards Lord Voldemort.

"Well done, Draco." Voldemort smiled and embraced him in a not so warming hug.

When Draco returned to his family, he turned to face his fellow classmates and his eyes met mine.
I knew this wasn't his choice, but I couldn't help but feel betrayed once again.

Suddenly, we all noticed Neville began limping towards him. The faces around me dropped and their mouths opened wide in shock. Neville? Neville Longbottom joining the dark side?
I couldn't help the tears forming in my eyes as I watched him limp to Voldemort, sorting hat in his hand.

"Well, I must say, I hoped for better." Voldemort spoke, earning laughter from his crowd once more. "And who are you?"

"Neville Longbottom." He spoke.

Another break of laughter erupted from the crowd.
"Well, Neville, I'm sure we have a place for you in-"

"I want to say something." Neville interrupted.

Voldemort's hands gripped together in frustration.
"Well, I'm sure we're all dying to hear."

"It doesn't matter that Harry died!" Neville said quickly.

"Neville..." Ginny started.

"No! People die everyday. Friends. Family. Yeah, we lost Harry tonight...but he's still with us...in here." Neville pointed to his chest.
"So is Fred, Remus, Tonks, all of them. They didn't die in vein! But you will!"
Neville was now facing Voldemort. The dark lord smiled and laughed evilly.
"Because you're wrong! Harry's heart did beat for us! For all of us!"
Neville then pulled the Sword of Gryffindor out of the sorting hat, startling all of us.

Just as he was going to attack, Harry rolled out of Hagrid's arms, landing on his feet. Voldemort's eyes widened and Draco immediately spring into action, "Potter!"
Draco threw him a wand and right has Harry caught it, he shot a curse at Nagini.

The crowd of students cried out in joy as Harry ran fast away from our enemy.  I grabbed hold of Ron and practically jumped in joy.
"In here! Let's go!" Mcgonagall called to us, herding everyone into the building.

When I turned to look at Draco, I saw him and his family rushing away from the scene. He looked back in anticipation. When we locked eyes he gave me a sorrowful look, "I'll come back for you! I promise!" He yelled before him and his parents disaparated.

Now the real battle had begun.
