As I finally reached the Astronomy Tower, I tried my best to keep quiet while catching my breath. I knew Draco was up there, and I didn't want him to know of my presence.
Slowly, I crept up the stairs until I saw Draco pointing his wand at someone.
He seemed very uncomfortable and his hand was shaking the slightest bit in fear.

"You're not a killer, Draco." A very soft and familiar voice said.

"You don't know me! You don't know what I'm capable of! I've done things that would shock you!" Draco cried out.

No...Draco no. Please tell me it isn't who I think it is.
I was finally able to move to a spot where I could see who Draco was cornering. The sight left me breathless.
Dumbledore. He has Dumbledore pinned against the balcony.

"You've had several minutes to complete your task, Draco, and you have not done so." Dumbledore explained, "You don't have to do this."

Draco then began to cry, "Don't you understand? I have to kill you...or he's going to kill me..."

Kill him?!

"We can hide you." Dumbledore explained with a calming voice, "We can hide your mother as well, Draco."

He can't do this. This isn't the Draco Malfoy I know.

"Oh please! I was chosen." He explained, lifting up his left sleeve. There, slithering on his left arm, was the dark mark.
Draco Malfoy is a Death Eater. I'm in love with a Death Eater.

My whole world was spinning, I felt as if I could faint at any moment! I knew Draco was on the wrong side of things, but I would have never imagined him becoming one of ...them!
I have to stop this.
"Draco, stop!" I exclaimed as I ran up the stairs, my wand now drawn.

The look on his face was something I will never forget. He was shocked, hurt, and confused. It made my heart ache.
"Hermione...." he breathed out, "What are you doing here? I told you to leave! I told you to stay away."

I couldn't help but notice Dumbledore's expression as he looked between us. He seemed almost pleased, considering he was about to face his death!

"I couldn't just leave you." I cried, "Draco please don't do this."

I very tentatively made my way towards him until I reached his side, causing him to put down his wand. As I lowered mine as well, he grabbed hold of me and pulled me into him.
"You shouldn't be here." He mumbled into my hair.

"You're not who they want you to be." I whispered to him, kissing his tears away, "Draco...you're not a killer."

He then pulled away from me, tucking my hair behind my ears, "Hermione we can't do this anymore."

No. He can't actually be breaking up with me right now.
"What are you saying...?" I said, trying to play dumb.

Tears streamed down his face as he kissed my forehead, "Leave. Leave Hogwarts, leave the country. It's about to get terrible around here. Leave me... because I'm leaving you."

"I don't want to leave you!" I exclaimed, tears running down my face, "You think it's just going to be that easy?! You're going to break up with me and then that's it?! I'm not giving up on you, you're not evil! I know you...this isn't you."
