As we flew in the sky I was following behind Ron, trying to focus on my surroundings. Yet, I couldn't help but notice the lightening around us.
How could there be lightening, but no thunder?
What on earth....
That's when I realized we weren't alone, and the bolts of lightening I saw were really spells being shot at us. There were death eaters all around us!

Without even thinking, I drew my wand and began firing spells left and right.
"Ron! Duck!" I screamed as I saw a death eater heading straight towards him.

Ron quickly swung his broom to the right, barely missing the spell being cast at him.
"Mione! Get out of here!" He yelled back at me, "Get back to the Burrow and tell dad what's happening!"

Then I heard it.
"Granger?!"

No. You've got to be kidding me.

Then I saw him. He came towards me with the most concerned look on his face, "Granger what are you doing out here?!" Malfoy yelled.

"Now is not the time, Malfoy!" I replied back, trying to get as far away as possible from him.

"Granger." He said, reaching over and grabbing my broom, "You have to leave. It isn't safe here!"

"Of course it's not safe here! You and your Death Eater friends are trying to kill us!" I shot back.

Draco looked hurt, but he continued to hold onto my broom, "Please, Granger. I couldn't bare...I just...if you died tonight-"

I suddenly felt my heart ache. I can't take this, seeing him.
"Don't worry, Im leaving." I told him, taking his hand and removing it from the head of my broom.
Instead of him letting go, he held onto me for the tiniest bit before dropping my hand.
Before I sped away, I took one last look at Malfoy. His eyes were saddened at the sight of me leaving him, but he quickly turned and went back into battle.

I can't believe this.
I knew I couldn't think of Draco Malfoy at the moment due to my possible death, so I immediately focused in on my task. Somehow I managed to draw far enough out of the battle and found myself alone in the sky.

It didn't take me long to get to the Burrow, I guess I was flying a lot faster than I thought.
When my feet found the ground below me, I tripped at the sudden contact and fell into the tall grass.
Bloody hell.

When I found the strength to stand up, I saw that I was one of the few first people to arrive.
Where's Ron?

Just then, in came Tonks and right behind her was no one other than Ron.
I quickly ran to him and wrapped my arms around him, "Thank god you're alright."
We all could have died tonight.
This was the most scared I'd ever been.

"He deserves it, that one." Tonks was saying as she hugged Lupin, "I wouldn't be standing here if it weren't for him."

"Really?" I asked breathlessly.
Ronald Weasley? A hero?

"Why is that such a surprise?" Ron chuckled slightly.

Before I could even answer, Harry came running into us and embraced us in a tight hug. We didn't even have to say anything. We all knew that we were grateful for each other, and we were happy to be alive.

Once Mr. Weasley got ahold of Fred, they made their way back. Fred was the last to arrive. We then all hurried inside to check on George. I knew he had been hit with a curse. Not to my surprise, when we came inside he was making jokes of his now lost ear.
"I'm holy." He was saying.

"I'm holy? That's all you could think of? Pathetic." Fred teased.

"Recon I still look better than you." George chuckled back.

I couldn't help but smile at the twins. Even in the most serious times, they still seem to find a time to laugh.
Apparently I had spoke too soon though, because when Bill came into the room he brought shocking news.
Bill turned to all of us slowly, "Mad-Eye's dead."

I felt my heart jump at his words.
Mad-Eye Moody....dead?
Tonight was scary. We could have easily gotten killed, and yet here I was. I couldn't think of a time I felt more grateful to be alive.

The next morning I woke up in Ron's arms, we had fallen asleep taking about the battle late last night.
Hesitantly, I wiggled my way out of his grasp and waltzed into Ginny's room. She was already awake, giving me a smirk from her bed.
"Good morning."

"Morning." I nodded casually.
Here we go...

Ginny continued her smirk, "How did you sleep?"

"Oh bugger off, Ginny!" I scoffed, "It was an accident."
I felt my cheeks turn red in embarrassment. I didn't mean to sleep with Ron.

Ginny gave a slight chuckle, "So you just accidentally started cuddling with my brother before falling asleep last night?"

She had a point there.
"Last night was scary, Ginny. I was just needing some comfort." I explained.
Do I have feelings for Ron again? No. No, I just needed comfort. Right?

"Understandable." She shrugged, "You know Krum is going to be here tonight?"

I cocked my eyebrow, laying down on the foot of her bed, "Is he?"
Oh Krum. We did have a fun time my fourth year. The Yule Ball was the best time of my life. Well....second best. Cedric's Ball unfortunately takes the first.
Damn Malfoy.

Ginny nodded, "He is. Fleur invited him. You know, Triwizard Tournament stuff."
Then she sat up and leaned forward, "Do you think he'll say hi to you?"

I bit my lip at the thought, "I would hope so. He was my first kiss after all."
Krum is very good looking, but with the ball on my mind I couldn't help but drift my thoughts onto Draco.
It's strange how quickly things changed for us. I felt like I barely had enough time with him.

"You have to tell me what happens!" Ginny exclaimed, "I just know he's going to ask you to dance."

Just then a very sleepy Ron trudged into the door way. His hair was completely tangled and he was yawning as he knocked on the opened door, "May I come in?"

"Absolutely not." Ginny answered, "We're having girl talk."

Ron scratched his head and stretched his arms out before yawning once more.
"Well fine then. I'll see you two down stairs. You're helping pitch the tent aren't you?" He asked us.

I couldn't help but notice how he couldn't seem to take his eyes off of me.

"That's the boys' job. We have to get Fleur's things ready." Ginny answered and then decided to tease him, "You can see Hermione later."

Ron rolled his eyes at her comment before turning around and walking down the stairs.

"He's totally into you, Mione." Ginny said.

"I know..."
