Chapter 20: Loretta

Loretta's POV

"Hold on, hold on." My brother said trying to not fall on his face. I was pushing him from behind, my hands on his shoulder blades.
"You don't even know where we are supposed to go." He said still trying to find his footing.

"Welp I am going to find out pretty soon." JJ finally got his footing, picked me up and slung me over his shoulder.

"Yes you are." He said. I could hear the grin on his face.

"JJ! Put me down!!"

"No can do." He said walking to who knows where. In a reply, I slapped his but, hard.

"Oww!! What the heck!" Screamed JJ. I just laughed and somehow jumped out of his arms.

"That's what you get for picking me up." I said folding my arms. He just rolled his eyes and folded his arms.

"Don't give me that sass you sassy teenager. Just because you turned 16 yesterday doesent mean you should be rude." I said playfully. And yes, his birthday was yesterday, I had just forgotten, like every ones birthday, even my own.

"Look at you! You're giving me sass. You are also a sassy teenager." He said with the same amount of playfulness.

"Nope, that's were you are wrong. I'm still 12, so therefore, I'm still a child/ preteen." I said confidentiality, and I saw a slight smirk on his face. I tryed to stop myself from laughing, but failed. I bursted out laughing like an idiot and so did he.

"Come on, lets go." JJ said after we had gotten  a hold of ourselves. I held up one finger and ran to my room. I grabbed my phone, some head phones wrapping it around my phone, and shoved it into my pocket. I felt something else in my pocket so I took it out. It was the crumpled up piece of paper that had been left behind. I felt a chill go down my spine as I read the note, no, not a note, a warning.

"What is that?" I shoved it into my pocket and glared at my nosey brother.

"Why are you so nosey? It was just a piece of paper that had a note on it from someone I know. I probably had just left it in there by accident because I had just found it in my pocket." He just nodded, and waved for me to come.

Why did you lie!?!? Spirit shouted in my head.

'Chill Spirit! I didn't lie, it was the truth, but I had left out the details. Just think about it.' I replied not wanting her to get mad at me.

Oh... sorry, Spirit said after a while, lowering her head in submission.

'Spirit!! Don't do that! We are both equals! We both control each forms, and plus, we are best of the best of friends.'I said, mentally giving her a reassuring smile. She gave me a wolfish grin in return.

When I came back to my senses, we were at the orchard and JJ had just shifted into his wolf Jasper. I shifted into Spirit, picking up my song book in my mouth, and we were off. I followed JJ, still not knowing where we were headed to. My mind wandered off into another world. I started thinking of that vision when I ran into JJ, my song book falling out of my mouths hold during contact.

"Jees do you ever look where your going?" My brother asked teasingly, after shifting into himself. I rolled my eyes and gave him a wolfish grin. I shifted and picked up my song book. I sighed and dusted it off. I looked up and we were behind a very thick bush at a park.

"Come on, let's go. But you might want to hide your knife." He added when I was about to walk out from behind the bush.

"Oh, yea, I totally knew that!" I said playfully slash sarcastically. I put the switch blade into a hidden pocket in my pants, but it was easy to get to. He chuckled and walked into the park. I followed him and checked my phone for any messages. And I had none, great. After a couple of minutes following JJ blindly in town, I got board and jumped onto JJ's back. He stumbled forward in surprise.

"What the heck Loretta! You scared me to death! Walk by yourself." He said trying to get me off him. But I just held on tighter.

"I'm to lazy, you were going to carry me in the first place so,  carry me." I said resting my head on his shoulder.

"To lazy! You ran all the way here which was 15 miles."

"You made me run that much! I hate you." I said sarcasm flowing through my words. He just rolled his eyes and continued on the way, giving me a piggy back ride, because there was no way he was going to get me off him, and I know he knew it to.

After a while we finally came to a building with people running in and out of it. It was a regular, concrete, tall city building with so many floors you wouldn't  even want to bother to count them all. We walked in, well I got carried in, and was smacked in the face with the smell of freshly cleaned everything, and a blinding brightness. I slid off of JJs back and followed him to the counter.

"Hi, I'm here to see Lani Shires." JJ said to the lady at the counter. She nodded and told us to go to the 13th floor, room 13. He thanked her and dragged me to the elevator knowing that I will, not would, will make him carry me up the stairs.

Once we had made it to the elevator, it was already packed. I shifted my feet side to side, uncomfortable and feeling claustrophobic. I had this feeling of eyes burning holes into my back, but like the idiot I am, I ignored it. I flicked my hood on to feel less uncomfortable. I was definitely used to having my own personal bubble, but when your in a very high populated city, that bubble is popped every time you go outside, and onto the streets, so you will just have to deal with it. I shoved the head phones into my ears, and played random music.

Before I knew it, I was being pulled away from my own little world and back to reality, by my brother. He led me out of the croud in the elevator and we wandered aimlessly around trying to find room 13 on floor 13.

After what seemed like generations, we finally found room 13 which was not very far from the elevator, we had just chosen the wrong way to start looking. I walked in and felt for a light switch. I flicked the switch and I jumped at what I was seeing.

I will be changing the cover soon and I have worked really hard on it. Oh and also yea!! This is the 20th chapter. That's it. Seriously that's all I needed to say. Well bye bye.
