Emily's POV

I walk into the hospital and go to Jacob's room. I see him out of the bed, trying to use crutches.

"Ready?" I ask.

He nods and walks toward me with them. "Can't believe I'm finally getting out of this place."

I nod as he follows. I call an Uber since I don't wanna drive and Jacob can't pick us up.

We go outside and see a car waiting for us.

"Hi, how are you guys doing today?" the driver asks as we get into the back seat.

"Well we just left the hospital and I have a broken leg so ok," Jacob says. I laugh a little and he starts to drive.

--

"Are you sure you don't want me to come in? At least until your mom comes home, I know she comes late." I ask Jacob as he starts to leave the car.

"It's fine, I actually wanna take a nap," he says. I hesitate to answer and sigh.

"Ok, I'll come by in an hour with some food. I know how much you hated the hospital food,"

"Thanks, here's an extra key in case I'm sleeping when you come," he says, grabbing a key out of his pocket.

"Alright, thanks. I'll see you," I say, taking the key. I go back into the uber and he starts to drive off to my house.

--

"Hi, can I get a large pizza, an order of breadsticks, and an order of fries?" I ask the people at the pizza place.

"Sure anything else?" she asks me.

"Actually yeah can I get a 2 liter of pop?"

"Yea sure. Your total will be $22.74," she says.  I pay her and wait for the food.

"Thank you!" I say grabbing the food after 20 minutes. I get into my car and start to drive to Jacob's house.

--

I unlock the door and walk into his house.

"Hello?" I yell putting the key by the door. "Jacob I brought the food!"

I see him limping down the stairs with his crutches.

"Here let me help you," I say, setting the pizza on the table then quickly go up the stairs. I grab his arm and lead him to the kitchen.

"Thanks," He says. I nod and help him sit on a chair. I grab cups and plates, pouring the soda into the cups. I take one and hand the other to Jacob. I open the pizza box and we dig in.

After moments of silence, Jacob finally speaks, "Emily?"

"Ya?" I answer.

"I wanna talk to you."

I nod, "Go ahead."

"Ok hear me out before interrupting," He says.

I nod again, "Ok."

"I wanted to say, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for being so goddamn stupid. I'm sorry for hurting you. I'm stupid and mess up a lot of things. You should know I care for you, and you mean so much to me. I know you might never forgive me, but I wanted you to know that I'm sorry."

I stand there,  speechless. "Jacob,  I  don't know,"

He walks up to me, "I promise nothing like this will happen again, no more bullying, no more cheating, and no more lying."

I sigh and look away. "You said the same thing last time, I let it slide and then everything happened again."

"Well this time it won't, and I promise."

I think for a little bit. He says he's sorry. But I've been through this game before. He says he's sorry, I accept it, we get back together, and then he either cheats or bullies me. I look back at him and see tears in his eyes.

"Please Emily?"

"It's ok Jacob. I accept the apology, but on one condition," I say slowly. He looks at me hopefully. "We're not gonna date for a while,"

"Wh-Why?"

"Jacob, I know your type, your games. You don't care. You think I would forgive you and whenever you want, you do whatever, like cheat and bully me," I say.

He shakes his head, "Emily I'm not like that anymore. Please, give me a chance. Forgive me."

"I already forgave you, I'm just saying I'm not ready to date right now."

"Ok, I understand," he says sadly.

"Jacob, don't be like that, after all we went through, I'm just not ready to date anyone right now," I say sighing. He sighs also.

"So you wanna watch a movie?" he asks after a couple minutes of awkward silence.

"Yea sure," I say quietly.

We get up and go to the living room. We start to look through Netflix to find a movie. We finally find one so I get up to make popcorn.

"Jacob, where's the popcorn?" I yell, looking through cabinets.

"It's right here," he says. I hear him getting up.

"No stay sitting, just tell me where it is," I tell him. He tells me it's on top of the fridge so I go to get it. I grab the popcorn after it's done and put it into a bowl for me and Jacob.

We sit on separate couches, watching The Flash. The silence was interrupted by my phone ringing.

I answer it and soon find out that my mom wants me home.

"I gotta go," I say, standing up.

With his crutches, he stands up, "Bye."

"Bye," I reply, giving him a quick hug, and leaving.
