Taping my fingers on the armrest feeling claustrophobic in the small airplane. I reminded myself that once we landed I would be free and out in the wide open spaces of Canada. My grandparents had built a cabin few miles into the forest, passing it on to my parents and then me with my inheritance after my parents died from a car crash when I was fifteen. Sense then I have came out here every summer once school got out, missing the fresh air and the feel of freedom to do what I wanted.

Once the tires of the aircraft screeching to a hauled I was antsy to just jump out not wanting to be in the metal tube a minute longer. Getting off the plane I walked to retrieve my luggage dragging two suitcases and my large bag with my small carry on. It had everything I needed for the months that I would be here till I figured what I wanted to do after my year off of school before I started college. My parents had left me a large amount of money behind still put money in the bank by my father's company that I was co owner now with him gone. So I really had no need to work but I still had a job through out my high school career proving to the court that I was responsible and emancipated myself to live with Arabella as an adult. I was the last of my family my grand parents only having my dad and me being a only child, the rest of the family had already past from age or diseases.

"Sirenna Starling." The guy read my ID, handing my keys over the counter as I thanked him walking out of the small airport.

I walked to the long term parking lot unlocking my black Jeep Grand Cherokee needing the room for my bags and other essentials that I would be picking up at the local store. Throwing my bags in the back and grabbing my wallet I jumped into the driver seat turning the key hearing the roar of the engine come to life. I drove to the store grabbing food, bathroom products, and anything that caught my eye. The cashier eyed me like all the other times I have came in just seeing me as a weird teen that stayed in the deep forest not many ventures to in less just passing by. I never really came back into town once I got to the cabin it was a far drive so I made sure to stuff the back to the max handing the lady a wad of cash not waiting for my change as I pushed the over flowing cart. I stuffed everything inside ready now for the long journey to the mountains where the cabin was.

I only knew how to get there from the few times I had came with grandma for a week just to check on it once a year. They had kept it in the family for generations saying it was were my family had started. You would think as a teen I would be scared to be alone in the forest civilization several miles away. But here felt like home, feeling as if this was were I was supposed to be. I drove for several miles listening to the CD player sense there was no radio stations singing along to the popular songs. By the time I pulled up to the dirt path the sun was descending to orange now fading making it harder to see only knowing my turn was there by the Do Not Trespass sign, my 4x4 now used to climb over rocks and fallen branches. Driving through the small stream then a little ways further through the tall pine trees seeing the silhouette of the log cabin.

Pulling up to the large two story home that was comfortable with five rooms a large kitchen, dinning room, a huge living room, and front room with a fire place. You could tell it had been added on to over the generations, my parents adding a green house for plants and a deck that wrapped around the cabin covered by the long beams of pine. It was hand built by the very trees that surrounded it seeing various stamps some used for fire wood cutting others as tables. I parked jumping out unloading as fast I could before the rays of little light that was left extinguished by the canopy of trees.

Stepping into the cool front room I piled up all my bags turning on the lights powered by the solar panel that I had installed myself on the side of the house. It was just enough for the few lights I had and a flat screen tv that was only for the movie collection that had grown over the years having a room dedicated to shelves on all the walls. I also had put in a water system pump that was connected to the stream down the way for the sink and shower. It was the perfect house for off the grid with out needing much from town, other then meat otherwise I could grow the rest. I walked into the kitchen opening the fridge putting all the food away only leaving out food to make myself for dinner. Lighting the old burner that was as old as the house itself igniting the wood as I put a pot of boiling water to cook my pasta as I turned on the over head fan. Walking back to the bags I put away the rest of my things dragging my suit cases up the stairs to the master bedroom dumping them on the cream carpet floor for later. I went back down finishing dinner setting up my plate to eat as I sat outside at the hand made wood table and chairs looking up at the stars.
