When we arrived I didn't know what to expect.
But nothing I would have thought could have compared.
The sun had started to blanket the sky in darkness as we arrived at the mountain. Sunsets from the air were more beautiful to watch as it hide behind the horizon to see some of the stars start to glitter above. Then looking down at the large pack grounds Elijah explained were hundreds of people gathering in the middle of town awaiting our arrival. And what a welcoming we got.
Several large smiles were plastered on people's faces with others grinning joyously as we landed before them. The moment we were on the dirt I was engulfed and dragged by a excited Kara rubbing her cheek against mine as if to make sure I was real.
"I was so afraid you'd never come back." She said for good measure giving an extra tight huge.
"Kara... I... can't breath." I gasped finally dragging in sweet air as she let me go with a soft sorry to only have another set of arms wrap around me softly.
"Seren..." I could already hear the break in Lucy's voice of ushering tears as I slowly turned around to hold her tightly to me.
"Don't worry Lucy. I'm here for good now." I smiled as she pulled back seeing soft tears fall as I brushed them away. "Someone has to look over Elijah and watch over this pack with him." I said with a tilt of my head as she gasped with a large smile turning on her lips. Excitement by my statement she started to jump up and down once more with another tight huge seeing Kara grinning behind her just as large.
"Everyone!" Elijah yelled suddenly beside me as Lucy pulled away while he wrapped an arm around me turning my head to see a wide grin on his face as he addressed all of the pack before us. "I want you to officially meet my mate Sirenna Starling and..." He paused looking down to me with such love it made me grin with the soft thrill of emotions coursing through me. "Your Luna." He boomed back across the crowd as cheers rung out amongst them.
Unexpectedly all at once they yelled. "Welcome to Mountain Moon Pack Lady Luna Sirenna!" And then they howled just as the moon was starting to raise as a feeling of glee consumed me with love and homeliness that I had never felt before.
Content and excited. "And I hope to be the best Luna for you. Let's learn together and grow as one pack. I thank you for taking me in with open arms and I as well for you." I yelled back as more howls took to the air feeling Elijah's arm around my waist tighten more in happiness.
"We will have a ceremony on the first night of the Challenge. I know that means more preparation but, my mate has offered to help in anyway she can. Do not hesitate to ask anything of her... She always aims to please." He smirked at the end as many started to chuckle making me blush furiously to his innuendo. "Now get some sleep. We will start training back up tomorrow at eight. Enjoy the extra sleep in because it will be your last until the Challenge." He explained as all eyes suddenly turned on me.
I smile softly thankfully to see them beaming back as they dissipated to now see Marcus standing in the back with a large grin running up to us to only scoop me up and twist me in the air. "Please tell me he begged you back. That can only be the reason you agreed to come back with this mongrel!" He exclaimed settling me back down when a slight growl heard by mongrel in question behind me.
"He did as you said. Begged on all fours like the wolf he is." I winked unable to hold the blush back as he wrapped an arm around Elijah's shoulders like men seem do, giving him a hard time.
"Sirenna?" A hesitant voice suddenly said breaking me from the two guy hits that were being thrown comically.
It was a depressing sight to see Arabella's head down with her hands nervously fidgeting in the long blonde strands of her hair when she was either scared or unsure of herself. Her blue eyes shifting everywhere but at me in a plain white shirt and jeans barefoot even in the thick snow that was around us. Without a word I threw my arms around her giving a tight hug feeling her become rigid until a breath was slowly let out by my ear to snuggle her cheek against mine, hugging me back. We held each other wordlessly but the feeling of understanding and forgiveness was what I was conveying in the tight embrace of longing to the absences of my long time friend.
