She had gone limp in my arms.
My heart dropped wondering what the fuck had happened.
Todd's frantic calls threw the mind-link had me dashing to Jade's house in seconds. Sirenna was clutching onto his mates hand and then suddenly I heard her breathing stop. My body moving on its own accord as I grasped her, lifting her small body cross mine, calling to her. Her heart was still beating but it was so low and vast between, my arms tightening harder around her securely. Then the gasp of Todd had me turning to see his mates eyes flutter open suddenly shooting forward in bed looking around frantically till they landed on Sirenna in wonderment. Her eyes scanning over Sirenna as if she was her life line turning back down hoping to wake her.
My calls suddenly seemed to have worth feeling Sirenna's connecting stir once more to my sense. Her eyes barely open as I gasp to see then a neon blue so brightly glowing that was startling. My name softly flowing out on a breath to connect with my eyes. A weary expression as she turned towards Todd now holding his mate as hers held onto Sirennas with tears in her eyes. Then she spoke to her with words that seemed to have let the floodgates flow of emotions down her face, crumbling as she frantically reaching out for her when suddenly our bond snap. Her eyes rolling back with her head, stopping my heart when hers still.
"Sirenna!" I called turning to Todd. "What the hell happened!" My demand reverberating around the room towards everyone that was in it. Elizabeth, Jade, Todd and his mate looking terrified in the few moments that we had stood here witnessing something I couldn't understand. Marcus looked just as terrified noticeable going rigid once her breathing ceased as well
"She... she came to my wolf... in the darkness... She healed my wolf... bringing me back from the brink of death... I had given up on this life but then suddenly... She was there with my wolf, encouraging her to fight back... to... live for my mate." She spoke turning to Todd as she tenderly squeezed his hands that she held. "I don't know how she did it but she saved me." She breathed, then a shutter shook her body as more tear kept falling. "Oh my goddess... what if she saved me and now she doesn't..."
"No, look." Elizabeth suddenly introvend, pointing to Sirenna as I looked down to see the blood stone glowing. An essence of its light flow out to her chest seeping under the skin like a gentle cares. "I believe she just needs to rest. It looks as though she may have used to much of her energy and then past out from exhaustion." She explained looking over towards the table noticing a pot with several white roses that had bloomed in massive sizes for a bush so small to produce of its own.
"I suggest taking her to the temple. She may not be a wolf but she is your mate and it's holy grounds could maybe help her replenish her strength." Jade said softly as we all looked to Sirenna.
Her heart was terrifyingly still but she was radiating warmth that was giving me hope, but the feeling as if there was a barrier back up between us wasn't helping me believe Elizabeth's theory. Desperate to try anything though, I ran out the door without another word, quickly passing my packs curious eyes toward the land I haven't stepped on sense my parents burial.
The grass that surrounded the temple's cave entrance was were many before my parents had been buried and the Alphas before them. Inside it was dark threw the hollow tunnel, opening up to a large cavern with ancient depictions and carved lettering in the walls no longer able to understand. A stone table in the middle of the waterfalls basin once had been used to purify many wolves for there holy practice. But it was a practice that had long ceast over the many decades, now wondering what had happened to the original people before us that had been faithful to their belief that we did not know of.
Quickly my steps took to the clear water only able to see with my heighten eyesight in the darkness with the glow of Sirennas pendant still emanating it's blood color around the cavern. Gently, I laid her down in the cool water just inches above the stone table. The water flowing with soft ripples from the cascading falls from the stream above.
