This vacation seemed to be what Sirenna and I needed. To get away for a little while from all the stress and to be a ordinary couple as much as we could around here. It didn't help that I had chosen a hotel that Grey owned. It was obviously last minute and knew his suite was always available. The reservations instantly set just with my name.

That was what I hated about royalty.

People instantly putting down everything to please only us. I wasn't used to this treatment. Before Sirenna, I was feared and unapproachable. But now after new years everything seemed to have changed. Not just there view of me but, of my relationship with my mate. The shock was evident when Grey announced that she was human apparently that night causing quite a scandal supposedly. I knew people would not take kindly to that instantly having always felt that our kind and humans should stay separate. But quickly they had warmed up to her after a few conversations, apparently even more so that she was adored by my cousin.

That was something that did not sit well with me.

But I couldn't fault that she was easily lovable. How could you not with her beauty and kind heart. Her voice so sweet just to listen to seeming to have a calming effect for the many around her. Even risking herself for someone that she didn't even know. She was the reason Todd had his mate now and slowly recovering with time. Her wolf spirit slowly piecing back together her human side at their own pace together now. She was a true Luna even being human and was better than most she-wolves I've meet.

"Elijah... We need to leave now." Sirenna suddenly whispered beside me, looking around us like a frightened kitten.

"What's wrong Sweetheart." I questioned instantly pulling her eyes to mine to see them wild with fright.

"Alpha Reynard is here..." She exclaimed seeing her hands trembling on my arm as I stood wrapping it around her confused. "He is the leader of the Rogues!" She retorted in a softly yelled making my wolf going on alert to protect our mate, scanning the restaurant for any threats instantly.

Calmly but quickly we excited the restaurant, glad that they would just send Grey the bill. Smartly I had keep the car in front, having the valet hand me the keys at our departure, opening the door for Sirenna as I surveyed my surroundings. Shutting the door after she was settled, I headed to the drivers side roaring the engine to life slamming the door shut, flooring it out of the drive. All I could think about was getting back to pack ground and keeping Sirenna safe, away from that insane man.

Alpha Reynard was just like me in his notorious nature of being a terrifying Alpha. He was known to be ruthless with rogues and kept to himself with a mighty temper but where we differ was his treatment of his pack. Rank meant everything to that wolf and lower wolves were nothing but fun games to them. Rumours even that he openly mated with several of the females in his pack to create strong warriors from his bloodline. His mate, turning a blind eye to it all. His only son from her was a potential fear for the future Alpha of their pack. The male a dark sort that I could see becoming a tyrant with age. A reflection of his father that was inevitable.

But unfortunately there was nothing I could do. Even as region Alpha he either needed to be challenged for his position or voted to be replaced. On both ends he was covered because he had already challenged me for my land and lost. It would look spiteful on my part if I turned and challenged for his that was nowhere near my lands and leave my pack without an heir to take lead. He would never be replaced either because he had strong ties to many of the other Alphas. His mate having been the daughter of the Golden Claw pack that had strong Alpha bloodlines. The union bounding him to many politician wolves and power in his pocket to do as he pleased. Basically he was untouchable.

Until now.

"What happened." I growled not liking the idea that he had terrified Sirenna this much to see her trembling beside me still after being miles away.
