The wolf was still here with me making me think he might be the loner of his pack. Sometimes I would see sadness in his eyes but then once my hands rested on his silky fur they turned to happiness. It seemed he like my company as much as I liked his.
We had created a routine it seemed for the last month where I would wake him up with a pat to his head getting dress then going on to run threw the forest. When we would get back he would take off to his pack I bet to check in or see his family. Then a little in the afternoon he would show up and take me around the mountain as now I would take a back pack to take home some of the fruits I would pick or other items I found interesting.
It always brought a smile to my face first thing in the morning waking up to see him always at the foot of my bed and then after the movie if I was still awake giving him a kiss on the head and diving in under the covers. I still wonder about the times when I would wake up in my bed on how he carried me, always so deep in sleep to wake up. It was a wonder how deeply I slept now with him around. I would always ask him in the morning but he would just shrug it off walking down stairs to wait for me to get ready.
This year was the best birthday ever making my cake as normal but I had a wolf to help me eat it this time. We even got into a frosting war when he spilt half of the bowl down my leg being impatient to try it. Lets just say he had to go find a stream or the waterfall to get all that sugar out of his fur.
Now looking over my calendar. I knew I was going to have to leave for a bit. Not able to put it off any longer on seeing my father's partner Richard that I loathed with a purple passion now that I was eighteen. I needed to sign the new contracts giving me full rights to my father's company already having my CFO Marlene warning me of his plans on how to take it from me. Will it wasn't happening when I had every right to the company and even though I physically didn't work there I still help run it from afar. With a sigh I headed out the kitchen and up the stairs to put what I needed together.
Out here I kept most of my important files knowing Richard could never get them. All he cared about was getting his hands on my father's deed to the company that had a place for me to sign now eighteen in front of the lawyers making it untouchable. He would still be a partial share holder but not owner ever and it was going to be satisfying to finally wipe that smug look off his face when I put my pen to paper.
By the time I had arranged the flight with my satellite internet and called Marlene that I was coming ready to take him on. She explained what he had been organizing and how he even put together a hearing with a judge that didn't go well for him. Legally I could not own it till I was eighteen going under a clues in my father's will that it would be watched over by Richard but not owned and that had killed him.
I figured that was the many reasons why when I lived with him how he purposely made me late for school, kept me from my home work and hardly slept from the many women he would bring over. It was to make me look bad and unfit to run a company. But what he didn't know was even with all that I still had perfect grade's and was loved by all my teachers. All of them writing letters for me to give to the judge to emancipate myself. After reading them the judge didn't even question it and granted my request easily just right at the time I had met Arabella as if it was fate.
Coming down the stairs with my bag ready right as the wolf showed up trotting happily over the gravel driveway stopping once he saw me with my bag and keys in hand in panic. "I have to leave." I said throwing my bag in the trunk slamming it shut as I heard a whine turning to see him blocking the drivers side door with his body. "I have to go." I said with a small smile coming up to cup his face as I looked into his deep green eyes that were swimming with sadness at my leaving.
"I'll just be gone for a little while. I'll be back before you know it." I explained as he seemed to not believe me by sitting firmly in front of the door. "I promise." I laughed softly leaning up to kiss his nose that seemed to shock him but then groaned as if to give in. But before he moved he pushed me into his chest for good measures as I giggled, wrapping my arms around his neck snuggling into his soft fur marking it to memory to imagen it when I was away.
