Their First Match

"Coach, what's their team name?" asked Syahmi.

"Slayer." Detective Hazim replied and then they both looked at the scoreboard. "They have won the first match. Maybe they already went home." told him after scouting around and not seeing Cobra. "It's okay. Don't worry. Let's focus on this match first."

"Alright! Looks like this night is getting lit! The tournament is continued with team Troublemakers versus Team Perkasa! For those interested, please place your bets on the bet table! If you want to add your bets, there's no obstacle for you! Now, each team must send their first fighter into the rink for the first match!" announced the man.

"It doesn't matter who will go first?" asked Fareez.

"Doesn't matter. Each team can freely choose who will fight first." said Detective Hazim while looking at Syahmi, Fareez and Ainin. "Eh, where's Intan?"

"Oh, she said she's taking her stuff at the car." replied Ainin. Detective Hazim nodded. His eyes are starting to get tired. Then he yawned. He believes that other members of team Perkasa are tired like he does. But they need to stay strong. They tried their best to stay focused.

"Let me fight first, coach." offered Syahmi while making his way to the rink. Detective Hazim held his shoulder from the back.

"It's okay. Let me fight first." said Detective Hazim. Each team has five members. One member must only fight once. Each team must only win three out of five matches to go to the next level. For their first match, they're still naive. Detective Hazim knows. He has been through this before. Let him win first in his match so the others will get pumped to win. Before he gets more tired, it's better he'll fight first.

Detective Hazim steps into the rink. A member of the Troublemakers also came in to face Detective Hazim. Detective Hazim's opponent is an African man with a tough body who is about the same height as him. His head is bald, wearing a white T-shirt just like the other team members of the Troublemakers are wearing. Maybe that's their theme.

The host who is known as Jay asks for their names. Looks like the African man knows and understands Malay.

"First round, Hazim versus Ladim!" announced Jay. The cheering of the viewers filled the room. The refree gave the sign to start the match.

Ladim looks ready. Detective Hazim just steadily stands there. That's his style while fighting. Syahmi, Fareez, Ainin and the other members of the Troublemakers watched from the side of the rink.

Ladim approached Detective Hazim with a punch to the face. Avoided. One more punch to the left. Avoided again. Ladim's right leg is swung high. Detective Hazim's head becomes his target. The attack didn't hit. Detective Hazim ducked, tackling Ladim's leg.

Buk! Ladim fell. The viewers cheered along with Team Perkasa. Detective Hazim stretched his body while waiting for Ladim to stand back up. They both faced eachother again. Ladim dashed towards Detective Hazim. An uppercut is launched. Right hand. Left hand. Right hand. All of them didn't hit. Unnoticed, Detective Hazim is getting too close to his opponent.

Buk! All of a sudden Ladim's knee hit Detective Hazim's stomach. Numb. He hold his stomach in pain. Ladim attacked again. This time his knee hits Detective Hazim's jaw from below. Detective Hazim is pushed backwards, almost falling down. He stabilised his body. He wore his black glasses.

"Is that all you got?!" Detective Hazim teased Ladim with a hand gesture saying 'come and get it'.

Ladim is mad. He felt like he's teased. With anger, he dashed towards Detective Hazim. His fists his hand. The punch is delivered as fast as he could towards Detective Hazim's head. Detective Hazim ducked. His punch missed. Ladim almost lost his balance. Detective Hazim acts quickly. His chance to counter Ladim's attack. His right leg is put forward. An uppercut is delivered from below right to Ladim's jaw. A finisher by Detective Hazim called the Standard Hammercut. It's the same as the Low Hammercut, but the impact is stronger.
