"Stooooppp!"
A guard who is wearing a nametag written Karim is running. Has a big body. Already around his 40s. Working as a guard in Mid Valley Megamall. Tonight, his luck is not with his side. Somebody stole something from Carrefour. He is guarding there. So he's the one who needs to chase her down first. While chasing, he took out his walkie-talkie.
"Hey! There's a thief. Where is everyone?! I can't catch this guy by myself! Albert?! Kumar?!"
Bsssszzztt. Somebody replies. "We hear you, don't have to shout! Identify the suspect!"
"Suspect is Malay. A girl. His age is maybe around her 20s. Wearing a black jacket and hoodie. She's heading to the North Court!"
"Roger that. We'll block her there. But don't lose the target!" Bssszzzt.
The thief is fast. Karim is starting to lose his breath. I can faint if I keep on chasing this thief. Is she a cheetah or what? Karim is already far behind. But he still can see the target up ahead. The target is still chased. Huh. Hah. Huh. Hah. Karim can't take it anymore. He stopped. He needs to. He takes a deep breath.
The thief turned around giving him a teasing smirk. The main entrance can be seen at the north area. Four other guards are waiting for her appearance. The thief is ready. She hugged tightly what she stole.
One of the guards approaches her from the front. The thief slides. Sliding below his feet. The guard was shocked. When he was about to turn around, he got his butt kicked. Face first to the floor. The thief laughed. There are three more guards. They are ready with their weapons. One holding a tazer. Usually one guard is enough to catch a thief. But this time, is different. The thief is not someone you can play with.
Three guards tried to corner her. The thief watched their movement. One at the left, one at the right, one at the front. Behind the guards that she's facing is the sliding door. Her escape. Right now I want to get out. After I get out well it's up to me. There are not many visitors now. It's 10.30 in the night. Most visitors have gone home and many shops are already closed. The 'drama' happening at the North Court is not seen by many people.
Whoop! The guard at the left and right tried to grab her. The thief ducked. The stolen item is thrown into the air. She kicked the guard infront of her. He's injured. His body is now used as a platform for her to jump backwards. Success! Everything happened so fast. All the guards are stunned. The target escaped just like that. The sliding door is infront of her eyes. She escaped. She also managed to get back the item she stole. Run awaaaayyy! Hahaha!
The thief ran for his life, searching for a place with no people there. A place to hide. She then saw a tiny path between two buildings. She made sure noone is there before sitting there to rest.
Meh. I only stole a 1kg Milo. There are many more things that they can do rather than chasing me. In the end, I still manage to escape. Hahaha!
---------------------------
Detective Hazim is looking inside of Aiman's house from the porch. His front door and gate is opened a little. Syahmi's mum invited Detective Hazim and Fareez in but they refused. As an excuse, they said they are in a hurry.
A black Toyota Alphard is parked infront of his house. Sometimes they turn on the air conditioner because it's hot outside. They will be soaking wet if they wait outside. They waited for Syahmi patiently. The radio tune is also changed a few times.
"I have already lost one man in my life. I can't afford to lose one more, Syahmi." Syahmi's mum sighed at the living room. Facing his son infront of her.
"Mum, I promised to you right? I want to search for dad. This is our only chance, mum."
"What if anything happens to you, Syahmi?" Syahmi's mother's voice is very sad. Syahmi felt bad. He understands his mother. He is also worried about his own safety. He needs to do it. He needs to find his father. He hopes he'll be safe.
"I understand your feelings, mum." his voice is low. "You don't have to worry about me, mum. I can take care of myself. Just pray for my safety. Okay?"
Syahmi was supposed to tell his mum earlier. About the tournament. About the thief. About dad. About what happened last night. But when he came home, his mum was already asleep. Syahmi didn't want to disturb her.
Syahmi can just leave with Detective Hazim secretly. Leaving a note at the table. But he can't do that. He doesn't want to let his mum worry about him. Syahmi knew his mum. She hates being lied. She rather knows the bitter truth than the sweet lie.
The situation became sad. His mum stood up and went into her room. Syahmi sighed. He's trying to find a way to persuade his mother. All of this for his mum, too.
Syahmi's mum came back out with a white envelope. She sits beside Syahmi. She took his right hand and gave him the envelope. Syahmi was shocked to see inside there is RM500.
"If you really want to go, then I hope this money can help you." Syahmi is stunned. Tears accumulated in his eyes. Today is different. He cried. Happy mixed with sad. He said thank you to his mother.
"Mum, I promise. I'll bring back dad for you. For us."
"Take care, Syahmi." Syahmi hugged his mum tightly. Then kissing her forehead. If Ema was there, he'll hug her too. But she got an extra class to attend.
Every bag and stuff needed for the journey is stuffed inside Detective Hazim's car. When everything is ready, they turned on the engine. And left. The journey starts.
"Coach, where are we going now?" asked Fareez.
"We're going to recruit more people."
"Who? Where?"
"Just wait and see." The paddle is pushed. Vrooomm!
