Free Falling

"This situation feels familiar, isn't it?" said Zarith to start their conversation.

Sam laughed. "I just hope I won't fall down again."

"I'm sorry you had to follow me. But.. I think this is the safest place for now." said Zarith while standing on the roof of the MAUT arena. 

"Safe? From what?" Sam is confused.

"Safe from the man who will kill me.. if he knows his secrets are revealed by me." replied Zarith.

"What do you mean?"

"I think my memory has been recovered."

"You remembered?"

"Yup. Because of your death spin, I remembered our match when we were teenagers. And... I remembered everything about myself. Including during the time of murder. I need to tell you about this now. Because, I don't know if I am still alive next time to tell you this." explained Zarith.

"So.. what do you want me to know?" Sam listened attentively.

"I'm not the killer. The one who killed Aisyah and Haziq was.."

"ME!" Suddenly, a voice of a man was heard not far from them. "I'm the one who killed your wife and friend, Zarith." The man laughed. Zarith's idea of this being the 'safest place' smashed into pieces.

"D.. David." Zarith looked at him. "How did you know I was here?"

David laughed. "I followed you! You were busy running, you didn't even notice."

"But.. I thought you were.."

"You thought I was somewhere else, right? Haha! I lied, Zarith!" replied David. "Before you tell him what you know, let me tell him everything." said David proudly. "Yes, true! I'm the one who did it. I'm the man you saw after you opened the door of your room, Zarith! I waited for you there with your kitchen knife. Honestly, I like using that knife. High quality! Hahaha!"

"How did you broke into my house?!" 

"Ah, I planned everything. Everything went smoothly. Haziq was easy enough to be fooled. I went to your company. I said I was your friend and asked him to send you a document to your house. He accepted it without any questions asked. When he went to your house, I followed him quietly. When he entered your house, I sneaked from behind."

"How did you killed him?" asked Sam.

"Yeah, that's the hard part. First I kicked Haziq's head than Aisyah's head who was greeting Haziq. When both of them fainted, I took a knife from the kitchen. I pulled them into your room and strip them down naked, then I stabbed them. Aren't I smart? And of course, I wore a glove to avoid my fingerprints being left all over the place." David laughed proudly.

"So.. this whole time, all of them are lies?" asked Zarith.

"Of course! You never even became one of us, Zarith! Cobra? All of those are fake! You were just being used this whole time!" replied David.

"But... why? What did I do to you? What, David?!"

"You've done nothing, Zarith. You were just someone in the wrong place at the wrong time. Actually, I had a problem with the CEO of your company. What was his name again? Bahri? Dato' Samsul Bahri? Before you replaced him, we were sharing partners. But, he drove me off just like that. I lived without money! I have lots of debt to pay too!"

"So, you want to take revenge on me just because I'm the new CEO?!"

"No. No. No. My only objective was to kill Aisyah to make that old man screaming for mercy. But, coincidentally, you entered and interrupted my plan. It must've been hard seeing your daughter being killed by your own son-in-law, right?!" David laughed again.

"You imbecile!" shouted Zarith. 

"All this time, I was being cautious incase you got back your precious memories. And when that time comes, I have to end your life here! Right now!"

David immediately attacks. He kicked Zarith's head. He punched Sam. Both of the men fell down. It's quite unfair because they were both fatigued after a fight. Injuries and cuts everywhere on their body. 

Sam and Zarith stood back up. Gasping for air. Their vision started to blur. But, they still tried to defend themselves. David attacked them non stop until they are the edge of the building. Sam and Zarith lied down onto the floor. David smirked while looking at his opponents that are easy to be defeated.

With what he has left, Zarith stood back up. David was only a few steps infront of him. The edge of the building was only one or two steps behind him.

"Now, it's time for you to die!" David took a out a pistol from his pocket. The gun was pointed towards Zarith.

PANG! PANG! PANG!

Sam jumped infront of Zarith during the same time David shot three bullets towards Zarith. Because of the impact of the shots, Sam was pushed backwards, carrying Zarith with him.

AAAARGH!

Both men fell down from the building. Silence. No sounds of shouting. David looked down. Dark. Only a few planks are seen. Maybe Sam's and Zarith's body are under them. 

"Well, my job's done." David laughed alone then walked away from the building.
