One Final Goodbye

- 2010 -

Six days has passed.

Only a few hours left before Martial Arts Underground Tournament's finals will start. They will face Team Slayer this night.

Nitro. That's their team name given spontaneously by Sam when they registered. When the others asked Sam why did he chose that name, Sam only replied 'it's a long story'.

Inspector Hajiq and Inspector Rai are on their way to the hotel they are staying. Both of them are carrying a red plastic bag with two white polystyrenes. Fried mee. That's their breakfast. Surely Detective Hazim and Sam are waiting for them. They are the ones who asked the married couple to go out to search for breakfast for all of them. They wanted to have breakfast in their hotel rooms. As an excuse, they said they are 'lazy'.

"Rai, are you okay?" asked Inspector Hajiq when he saw Inspector Rai is holding her head.

"I'm fine, honey. Don't worry. It's just a mild headache." Inspector Rai tried to cover her pain. It's not actually a mild headache. Her head is pulsating. Her vision is also blurry. Her injury caused by her match last week didn't recovered fully. Inspector Rai was meant to be a spare fighter but in the semi-finals, she had no choice but to take Inspector Hajiq's place who was injured during the first match.

Inspector Rai was mashed. Her head hit the court's floor with quite a bang. But still, she managed to win the match.

But if she continues to fight, her injury might get worse and severe, and may lead to her death even with the slightest hit.

"Maybe it's a little bit too late for me to say this but.." Inspector Hajiq sighed. "I told you not to join us."

"Honey. We discussed about this." Inspector Rai stopped walking and looked at his husband.

"Yes. True. We discussed. But I didn't agree with your choice. You'll never understand the feeling when your own wife is being smashed into pieces infront of my own eyes. I don't want you to get hurt, sweetheart."

"But this is my responsibility. Did you even realized what you said just now? If it wasn't because of me, we can't make it to the finals, you know?" replied Inspector Rai sternly.

"Rai..."

"I know you love me. I know you care about me and I know you didn't want me to join this freaking tournament from the very beggining. But you know it yourself, you need me for this mission. I also knew that we didn't have any other choice, but to choose me. This is a bet, and we have to make sure this mission is a success, no matter what."

The situation suddenly went awkwardly silent. Their surroundings are quite silent since they are the only once there. Only their voice filled the emptiness. But now, they went silent again. Both of them stared at eachother silently.

Suddenly, Inspector Hajiq hugged his lovely wife. He put the plastic bag onto the floor. He doesn't know why he felt he wanted to hug Inspector Rai so much; the only place he can let out his feelings. Inspector Hajiq felt like this is the last hug he'll give to his beloved wife. Inspector Rai hugged back.

"I love you." said Inspector Rai.

"I know." replied Inspector Hajiq.
