Familiar Faces

Detective Hazim looked at Syahmi in a weird face. He knows this guy?

"Oh, what do we have here? Syahmi, you too joined this tournament?" asked David with a made - up happy tone.

"Sir.. what are you doing here?" asked Syahmi. His face is filled with confusion. He is happy to meet Sir David again, but his feelings towards Sir David changed when he realize he's different from who he was back then. Way different.

"You don't know a lot about me, Syahmi. For example, you don't know when.." David approached Syahmi with a smirk. "...I can kill you."

Syahmi is shocked.

At the same time, Slayer is called up to the court. Before leaving, Rhyno pushed Detective Hazim until he fell down, but Fareez managed to catch him. Detective Hazim is forced to keep his anger to himself. He looked at everyone in Perkasa. Everyone is filled with confusion. I thought so.

"Coach, what's all of that?" asked Intan.

"Who is he actually, coach?" asked Syahmi.

"Cobra is not here. How about our plan?" asked Ainin.

"Brother? He called you brother?!" Fareez asked the last question.

Detective Hazim took a deep breath. He then wipes his face with his hands. He tries to explain one by one. "Huh. OK. Relax. Yes. Those are Slayer. Notice the two guys behind Rhyno? The Malay guy is Doc. The Chinese one is Lau. The woman? I don't know her. She's new. About the guy in the tuxedo. I don't know him too. I just met him just now. What's his name again? David? He was not here before. Syahmi, do you know him?"

"Yes. He's my coach for my taekwondo tournament last year. But, he's not like this back then. If I can compare, his personality is very different. Why though?" explained Syahmi.

"Even I don't know that. But from my observation.." Detective Hazim looked at the court. Looks like their first match is about to start. Lau from Slayer versus Mael from Gangsta. "...I can say he's not a good guy."

"You don't say.."  replied Syahmi.

Syahmi looked at David who is smoking a cigarette beside the court. David is smiling while enjoying the match where Lau is fighting with only a black pants and kung fu shoes. It looks like Lau is taking over his enemy. As usual, the crowds filled the arena with their cheers.

"How about Rhyno?" asked Fareez.

Detective Hazim looked at him. "He's.. my younger brother." Detective Hazim clenched his fist then stared at it.

"Nizam. He's real name is Nizam. Since secondary school, he has been friends with bad students. He doesn't know how to choose friends and has an unstable future. What he thinks is fun to do, he'll do it. He then went into juvana because of drugs and bullies. He bullies peoples until the point his victim is almost dead. Everyday, his crimes gets worse, until now. Since when he joined Slayer, I don't know. But because of that, he manages to escape from his crimes. I... I didn't managed to do anything. I feel guilty as a brother." sighed Detective Hazim.

"Okay, I'm sorry because I didn't told you everything that you need to know. In MAUT four years ago, my team name is Nitro. We have four members. Me, Sam, Hajiq and Raihana, who is killed by Rhyno himself. I'm not mad because of I wanted revenge. But I'm mad because he's doing things that can put himself others in danger. That's why... I want to stop all of this, no matter what's the challenges." continued Detective Hazim.

"You can count on us, Coach." said Syahmi while patting on Detective Hazim's right shoulder. Smiling as a way to give motivation. Fareez gave a thumbs up. Ainin nodded. Intan smiled. Detective Hazim smiled back at all four of them.

"But, how about this?" asked Ainin while showing the tracking device to Detective Hazim. Detective Hazim took our his spectacles and looked at the court.

"Cobra's not here. It's okay. Stick it on David." said Detective Hazim.

"David?" asked Ainin.

"Yup. I don't know if you noticed this  but he seems like he's in charge of the team." replied Detective Hazim.

"True. I noticed that too." continued Fareez.

"So, we might get valuable information from him. And we might not too. It's all a game of luck. But, what other choices do we have?" said Detective Hazim. All of them nodded in agreement.

During that time, Slayer is down to their last member to fight. The woman who is known as Ruby from the Slayer team walks into the court. At Syahmi's prediction, her age is almost the same as his'. His black hair is tied ponytail style. Her enemy is an European man who is in his 30s. Jay the host introduces him as Bruno.

The fight begins. Bruno attacks first with an aggressive kick. Ruby is shocked but managed to avoid the kick. Bruno attacks again. Punch. Kick. Punch. Ruby stopped all three attacks with her hand. Quickly, she approaches Bruno. Her palm slammed her enemy's chest violently. Bruno is pushed backwards, holding his painful chest.

Bruno is mad. He thinks that a man couldn't lose to a woman. He dashes towards Ruby with a powerful flying kick. The woman avoided the attack with a technique known as a cartwheel. Now, she's behind Bruno.

Before even Bruno can look at Ruby, his neck is slashed and stabbed using Ruby's hand. A finisher known as the spear.

Because of the attack, the nerves at the neck are easily damaged. It can cause disorientation, dizziness, nausea and the reddening of the eye. All of that are now being faced by Bruno - unconscious.

The refree starts his count with the crowd until ten. At that time, Fareez looked at Ruby attentively. Especially her face. "Syahmi, aren't you thinking what I'm thinking?"

Syahmi looked at his friend. "No. What are you even thinking?"

"Just look at Ruby's face. I don't know if I'm wrong. But isn't that..." Syahmi focuses his vision at Ruby's face. Suddenly, all his secondary school memories came dashing in into his brain. Memory by memory. During that time, the host announced Ruby as victorious with a score of 3 - 0.

Maybe Syahmi didn't notice because her face is a little different. But after further observation, it's true.

It's her.
