Tuesday...
Morgan sat on the risers when she heard a loud crash behind her.
"What the..." she turned to see Abygale on the ground, and a toppled music stand. She ran over.
"Oh my gosh, are you okay?" Morgan asked Abygale. Abygale looked up and scowled at Morgan.
"Yes, I am completely fine. Why do you care anyway?" She asked harshly. Morgan was startled.
"Oh, because I don't want someone to get hurt and-"
"Save it. It doesn't matter anyway. I am fine, now mind your own business," Abygale said standing up. She set the music stand back up angrily and went to the corner, pulling out her phone.
That was odd... oh well, can't dwell on it. I have to worry about auditions..... Morgan thought. As the others filtered in, she saw that Gavin hadn't showed up yet.
"Hey Kels, you are in his grade, do you know where Gavin is?" Morgan asked. Kelsey shook her head.
"I don't, but last I saw him, I believe he was getting picked up at noon. Why, I have no idea," Kelsey said.
"Maybe he had a doctors appointment or something," Ashley said.
"Or something," Morgan repeated.
"Maybe Gavin will be back in a bit, let's not worry, he'll be here in time to audition," Kelsey said.
"Who will be here in time for audition?" They heard behind them. Morgan turned to see Gavin walking down the risers to them.
"You will. We were curious where you were," Ashley said in response. Gavin chuckled and sat down next to Morgan.
"I'm here now," he said "where did you think I was?"
"We didn't know, that's what we were wondering about," Morgan said smiling.
"Oh, I had a doctor appointment. I got all my shots and a physical up to date," Gavin said. Morgan and Ashley nodded.
"Alright everyone, we have a fun practice planned. As you all are aware, we have solos to decide. We have two male solos, two female solos, and a male and female duet. So altogether, 6 of all 58 of you will have solos. It's not a large number, but it is what it is. So first we will start with auditioning the male solo for "Counting Stars" and the way solo auditions work here is that everyone eligible for a solo, will try out for the solo. Solo auditions take place in the auditorium. So let's begin," Kellie said walking to her office to grab her clipboard. "Alright follow me everyone."
Morgan was walking behind Kelsey next to Ashley as the guys walked ahead of everyone.
"Logan Adams, you are up first."

"Alright, now that the guys have had their solo auditions, let's audition the girls. Arianna Adams, you're up," Kellie said writing on her paper. Morgan started freaking out.
"Ashley, I'm next, I don't think I can do this...." Morgan said to Ashley and Kelsey.
"Oh come on MoMo, I have faith in you that you can do it. I believe in you 100%. How bad can it be, really?" Ashley asked.
"A disaster! I am not one to sing on stage, in front of everyone with no one else up there with me. What if I fudge a note, or fall off stage or-"
"Morgan come on, I've known you since we were in kindergarten, I know you have stage fright, but don't worry, we are only freshmen, freshmen don't usually get solos here," Ashley reassured.
"It'll be fine Morgan. Just imagine that you are singing in front of a mirror. That's what I did when I had stage fright," Gavin said. Morgan whirled around to face him, shocked.
"You had stage fright? But you sounded amazing up there!" She exclaimed, shocked. Gavin chuckled.
"Key word, Morgan, 'had' stage fright. I don't anymore. Not since my freshman year on stage where I fell off the top riser. Surprisingly, after everyone was staring at me then, I just find being up front funny. Surprisingly we still got grand champs that competition," Gavin said nonchalantly. Morgan giggled.
"That sounds like it hurt."
"Ehh, not much. I landed on a stage crew member, they helped break my fall. And actually if I recall correctly, I got the show stopper's award as well," he said.
"Morgan Christensen, your up for auditioning," Kellie said. Morgan's face fell and she gave her friends a look that told them help!!
As she stepped up to the microphone she looked out to everyone in the auditorium. Oh boy.... Okay Morgan, breathe.... She told herself. She took the mic off the stand and she started singing part of the duet for the song "Silhouette".
"I'm a silhouette, askin' every now and then, is it over yet, will I ever feel again? I'm a silhouette, chasing rainbows on my own, but the more I try to move on.... The more I feel alone. So I watch the summer stars to lead me home," Morgan sang.
"Alright, that's the duet, now sing the girls part for the girl's song, and then the girl solo in Sound of Silence, and you're good," Kellie said, cutting Morgan off.

"Alright, now that everyone has sang the solo I would like to hear the following sing these solos again. Gavin, I want to hear you sing the Counting Stars solo again, Luke, I want to hear you and Ashley singing the duet for Silhouette, Emily, I want to hear you sing the Flashlight solo, Logan, I want to hear you sing the solo for The Death of a Bachelor again, and finally Ethan, I want to hear you sing the Sound of Silence solo again. And for the rest of you, these are just ideas, if I don't like the choices I will choose again. Begin, Gavin you are first," Kellie said checking names on her clipboard and then facing the stage again.

"Alright, I have made up my mind. Gavin, Luke, Ashley, Emily, Logan, and Ethan, you may all stand up, you 6 are the lucky soloists. What you sang is what you will sing from here on out," Kellie said to everyone. Morgan cheered for her three friends. Ashley screamed and ran to Morgan.
"I got the duet part!!!!" Ashley squealed. Morgan and Kelsey squealed too and the three had a big group hug.
"And Gavin, congrats on the solo for Counting Stars!! That's a difficult one!" Morgan said giving him a hug. He smiled and hugged her back.
"Alright, now that that is done, let's practice with those soloists now," Kellie said and they all trailed back into the choir room.
