Morgan woke up and groaned. Her mother came into her room.
"Morning sleepy-head! Today is the first day of high school. Get ready, Ashley will be here in 40 minutes so you can walk together," her mother said.
"Alright, thanks mom," Morgan said. She stood up and turned her radio off. As she got ready she started singing her favorite song, Try by Colbie Caillat. When she was dressed she headed downstairs to see her mom had made her oatmeal. She smiled.
"Thanks mom!" She said, happily taking her spoon and eating it. It was cinnamon brown sugar flavored with raisins. "Yum, this is delicious!"
"I am glad you like it. It's a new formula. I mixed it with milk instead of water," her mother said.
"It's good," Morgan said in between mouthfuls of oatmeal. She finished eating, then headed out to meet Ashley. As they walked to school the two giggled and laughed about their summer.
"And then, a crate of peaches fell over on top of him. He was so worried about his truck, that he didn't even see the peaches that my aunt was making jam with," Ashley giggled about one of her cousins. Morgan giggled.
"Well, I went to the pool, like always, and guess who I saw there?" Morgan started.
"Who?" Ashley asked.
"I saw-"
"Hey Morgan, good to see you again after the pool incident. Did you get all that ice cream out of your towel?" Gavin asked, catching up to the two in the school. Morgan was so taken aback by him that she tripped over her own feet. "Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to scared you. Here let me help you up." Gavin offered his hand and helped Morgan out. Ashley was laughing. Gavin shrugged and headed to his locker. Ashley was still giggling.
"Let me guess, you saw Gavin, and he was so hot without his shirt on that you dropped your ice cream cone onto your towel," Ashley said while giggling. Morgan got annoyed.
"Well, I more or less threw the ice cream, but yeah that sums it up," Morgan said. Ashley laughed even harder. They both got their stuff and headed to their first classes.
"See you tonight at show choir rehearsal!" Ashley shouted to Morgan as they parted ways.
