Part 3!
"Morgan, it is 12:58, you gotta go!" she said quickly, alarm in her voice. Morgan stood up quickly, and walked towards the warm up room.
"Good luck, MoMo!" Ashley shouted to her. Morgan headed off to the warm up room where she saw Kellie sitting at the piano.
"Hey you made it!" she said. Morgan nodded, shaking slightly. Kellie noticed the shaking. "Nervous?"
"Oh my gosh, am I ever," Morgan responded. Kellie laughed.
"It's quite alright, everyone gets nervous from these types of things. Don't think about it, you'll do great. I wouldn't have chosen you on the spot if I didn't believe that you could do it. I usually start with a nomination, and then choose the best singer from the nominees. I didn't feel anyone could beat your voice, so I chose you," Kellie explained. Morgan felt her face get hot as she blushed.
"Wow, really? That's... thanks," she said. Kellie nodded before she started a chord.
"Alright, we gotta get you ready to sing, so lets warm up your voice a bit, and then sing through once," Kellie said playing a warm up.

Morgan stood outside the Solo room, shaking. She felt tears start to sting her eyes. I can't do this... what if I screw up? What if I can't sing the right pitch, what if I-
"Morgan? You okay?" A voice broke Morgan out of her thoughts. She looked up to see Gavin looking at her, concern on his face. Morgan started crying.
"Gavin, I can't do this, what if I screw up? What if I can't sing the right pitches, what if I drop the mic, what if I-" she was cut off by Gavin wrapping his arms around her in an embrace.
"Hey hey hey, I believe in you, okay? No matter what happens, you will be brilliant. Don't worry, I have faith that you will bring the house down. Not literally of course," Gavin said to her, sweetly. Morgan giggled at him.
"I guess that makes sense. I'm still really scared..."
"Don't worry, I'll be in the front row audience when you sing, so pretend it is just you and me," Gavin said before he took Morgan's chin in his hand. "Sing your heart out." He then gently kissed Morgan on the forehead. Morgan was taken aback for a moment, but by that time the doors to the room opened, and she took a deep breath before approaching the mic.
"My name is Morgan Christenson, I am from Tryverg Mane Stage show choir, and I will be singing Try by Colbie Caillat. I will be accompanied by Kellie Johnson. I chose this song because I connect to Colbie's character in how she feels compelled to hide behind what society deems as worthy," Morgan said into the mic. Soon after she finished speaking, Kellie began the intro.
The others were sitting in the front row. As Morgan began to sing, Gavin smiled and swayed slightly. Holland looked at him and smiled. The others from Al-Main were smiling as Morgan sang. Ashley was bouncing in her chair, and Morgan's parents were video taping her, tears streaming down her mom's face.
As she sang, the words and emotions poured out effortlessly, even though she gradually was pulling away from the mic. Holland was smiling at her friend, absolutely speechless. Gavin stared at Morgan, giving her the courage to sing, and pour her heart out in the song.
This is why I joined show choir. Morgan thought. The lights and the sounds fade away as it is just you and me. Only you and me. Forever... Thank you, Gavin, for being there all the time.
