Singing Solo (Completed)

Chapter 9 Sunday at Noon

Morgan's mom pulled into Gavin's driveway at noon. Morgan hopped out of the vehicle. She was greeted by a barking dog in the front window. She saw the curtain rustle, and a little girl's face poked out. Morgan smiled and the girl closed the curtain. Shortly, Gavin opened his front door.

"Morgan! You made it!" he exclaimed. She smiled.

"Of course. I can't say no to a concert where we can join in," Morgan said, smiling. Gavin opened the door, and waved to Morgan's mom, who was backing out of his driveway. He then closed the door and he turned to see Morgan, on the floor with Maggie laying on her stomach, licking her face. Morgan was giggling. Gavin chuckled.

"She likes you," he said, smiling. Maggie turned her head, and jumped off of Morgan, and ran to Gavin. She jumped her front paws onto his legs, and he laughed, and bent down to pet her.

"Gavin! Can you go get Savanna away from the- oh, hello there," a woman with the same color hair as Gavin came into the room. Morgan stood up and brushed the dog hair off of her dress she wore. At that moment, Gavin noticed her dress, and was enthralled by the dress. The dress was navy blue with white polka dots. It was sleeveless, and came down to her knees. Gavin smiled.

"I like your outfit, Morgan," he said. Morgan looked at him and blushed.

"Thanks. I got it last year to wear for when I presented my NHD project," she said.

"Nice, what was your topic?" Gavin asked.

"Well the broad topic for everyone was Time Periods, so I did mine on the Roarin' 20's. What about you? What was yours on?" Morgan asked, as she smoothed her dress.

"Well, we did Rights and Responsibilities for our big topic, so I did mine on the Miranda Rights. I even ended up getting an award for my project," Gavin said, smiling.

"Sweet! So what are we going to do until we have to go to your church?" Morgan asked, sitting down on the couch.

"Um, well we can-"

"Gavin, please get Savanna away from the radiator. She might get her hands stuck in the bars," Gavin's mother said, before ducking into the other hallway saying, "no, no, no! Don't stick the fork there!"

Morgan and Gavin looked at each other before Gavin started laughing. He then got up and grabbed his littlest sister, and brought her to the couch and sat her down with them.

"Morgan this is Savanna, she is my younger sister. My mom, was just yelling at my younger brother, Ashton," Gavin said. "I also have an older brother, his name is Connor."

"Cute! Hey, so we have about an hour, let's watch a movie," Morgan suggested.

"Alright," Gavin said, turning on the tv.

"Gavin! Time for you two to walk to the Church!!" Gavin's mother shouted. Gavin turned off the tv, and stood to face Morgan, and then he held out his hand to her.

"Shall we?" He asked. Morgan laughed slightly and took his hand.

"Yes, let's," she said, standing. They then walked to the church together to sing with the concert.
