Chapter 3

Genie slammed the door shut.

"What's wrong?" asked Martha.

"Oh, well, you see... Martha, have you ever been to New York?"

"Yeah, just last week with the Doctor," she responded. "Why?"

"Oh, ok. So then you won't be as confused."

"Confused about what?"

"Genie, what's out there?" the Doctor asked.

"Well..." she started. The doctor was going to kill her. "I don't think the TARDIS likes me."

"Genie Diamond!" the Doctor said, exasperated. "What is it?"

"Daleks."

"Daleks?!" asked the Doctor.

"Daleks." Genie repeated.

"How can we have landed on a dalek ship?" asked Martha. She was clearly frightened. And how wouldn't she be? She and the Doctor almost got killed last week!

"Well, there's one thing to do," Genie said. She threw her hand out to open the door, but the Doctor caught. Genie sighed. "I can't go out, can I?"

"Nope! Seriously, Genie Diamond, how do you even know what a dalek is?"

"I just do! Now please let me go!"

"No. You and Martha stay here." As soon as he walked out, Genie ran to the TARDIS controls. Shield, shield, shield... Aha! She flipped the switch.

"What did you do?" Martha questioned.

"I just saved the Doctor's life. Again. That was my ticket out of here. But first... Okay, TARDIS. Help me help the Doctor! I know you don't like me but just please!" She ran and ran until she found the room that the Doctor never used- the armory. She grabbed a colt pistol-surprised the TARDIS had one, being from Gallifrey-, found her way back to the main console room, and burst out the door. Now, Genie knew that, according to every season of Doctor Who, the Doctor liked it when you broke his rules, even though he acts like he doesn't. So when she ran outside, it wasn't the Doctor's frowning face that upset her. just the sad brown eyes that said 'I don't want to lose someone else.' That really got to her.

But she had to stay strong.

"Okay! Hello, daleks! I just wanted to greet you! Is this the Cult of Skaro? I'm truly honored."

"What are you doing?" the Doctor asked. He was so confused! She was loving it.

"Hush, peasant." She needed to make him be quiet, or he would ruin it.

"This one is intelligent. She will be fully converted." said the Supreme Dalek. They started advancing. Genie felt her heart beat faster. The shield was deteriorating, too. It didn't look good.

Genie felt for the cold metal in her pocket. "Oh, I don't think so." With tht, she whipped out the pistol and shot all five daleks in the eyestalks. "Aim for the eyestalks, it's their weak spot," she mumbled. "Okay, it's only gonna faze them for awhile. Let's go!"

"We can't! The TARDIS- something's interfering with it." the Doctor said, clearly frustrated.

"So we're stuck here?" asked Genie. Wow. This was suck-y.

"Yes. Let's get in the TARDIS before reinforcements come."

"Yeah. The shield is deteriorating and we need to get it back on. We could also make it invisible so they don't know we're still here."

"How?" the Doctor whispered. Genie smiled as they both walked back into the TARDIS.
