I woke up curled up in a small room on a couch with a blanket and the Doctor. I looked down at his arms wrapped around me, and then up at his eyes. I felt a sense of belonging. I knew I belonged here, in his arms, but this was the Doctor, and it would never work out. With that on the plate, I had even more reason to go through with my plan. A life of having to hold back my love for someone was not a life worth living.
He broke eye contact, probably thinking the same thing I was, but I knew he would never willingly accept my plan.
"You know I have to," I whispered weakly.
Silence, then-
"Genie Diamond, I-" he stopped abruptly and sighed.
I knew what that was. I needed hope. He needed to say it. "No, say it."
"I... I love you, Genie Diamond."
My heart warmed and, I swear, melted. I had an idea.
"You're future companion. She had a husband that was sucked into this crack. She remembered him, which brought him back. If she can do it I know you can."
"You can't expect me to-"
"I can. You're the Doctor. My hero. You can do anything."
"You really think I can do that?"
"Yes."
"Then maybe that's all I need."
I laughed. "You've already said that, silly. Like a long time ago."
"Oh." He was confused. I could tell by his facial expression. Oh, well.
"Here." I checked my pockets. Ah, yes. The familiar outline of my iPhone was apparent through my front pocket. "I'll take a picture of myself. Send it to Rose's phone. Hopefully you'll think to look at it..."
"I promise," said the Doctor, looking straight into my eyes. "I will get you back."
"You better." And with that I kissed him. And he kissed me back. It was absolute bliss.
When we finally broke the kiss, the Doctor said, "Well, we should tell the others. They won't like it."
"Well they'll have to suck it up. I'm fixing this once and for all."
