Chapter 7

"Have we landed?" asked Genie. She was really excited. Captain. Jack. Harkness.

"Goodness! What's up with you?" Martha asked.

"Childhood crush?" Genie replied. "But he's really hot. Like really."

"Can't wait to meet him," Martha said raising her eyebrows.

"Would you two stop. It's just Jack!" the Doctor interjected.

"Just Jack? There should be a captain in there somewhere." Genie was too excited for words. The feels.

The Doctor walked over to the door. He looked at Genie. "Okay, we have officially landed Genie Diamond." He looked baffled. "But... that can't be right."

"What is it, Doctor?" Martha asked.

"We're at the end of the universe," he said.

Genie wasn't fazed and immediately burst out the door. When she saw Jack, she acted surprised and fake gasped. "A man? Is he dead?"

Martha was completely freaked out. "Oh my God!" She exclaimed. She rushed forward.

"He's not dying. He can't die," Genie said. If the Doctor was surprised that she knew this, he didn't show it.

"What do you mean he can't die?" Martha asked frantically.

"Step back," the Doctor and Genie said in monotone unison.

"No!" Martha was getting frustrated. She was almost a doctor, saving lives was kind of her thing.

"Martha, it's best if you-" Genie was cut off.

"I'm not leaving him whatever you two say!" She checked his heartbeat. Her face fell. "He's dead."

"5, 4, 3, 2-" at Genie's 1, a loud gasp came from Jack and he opened his eyes. Martha was completely freaked.

"But- you were dead!"

"Yeah, I wish," he replied grinning. Standing up, he looked at the three of them. Genie giggled, and was suddenly glad that she straightened her hair and did her makeup before she left the house. But standing in front of Jack, she felt that her Torchwood sweatshirt and jeans wasn't enough. Torchwood sweatshirt... Oh, dear. Hopefully the Doctor and Jack wouldn't notice. It was weird, though. The Doctor never missed anything. Maybe he had just accepted the fact she knew everything.

"Captain Jack!" she exclaimed. "I've so wanted to meet you!"

"Ah. So you've heard of me. And American, too. Hello, gorgeous." He grinned. Wow. He really could flirt with a brick wall. "And hello to you, too," he said, referring to Martha.

"Stop," the Doctor warned.

"What?" asked Jack, defensively. "I only said hello."

"For you, that's enough."

"You're not kidding," said Genie, taking in their meeting. She had just met Captain Jack Harkness. She had a strange urge to kiss him. He was just so hot...

Interrupting her thoughts, the Doctor said, "How are you here?"

"Well-" he started.

"He clinched on to the TARDIS and rode through the vortex. He's been looking for you ever since you left him on Satellite 5. Which, by the way, rude. I don't think he knows about Rose though, so do you want to tell him?"

"Who is this Rose?" Martha asked.

"How do you know all this?" asked Captain Jack.

"Um, hello. Did you just choose not to see my Torchwood sweatshirt? Also, how're things at Torchwood? How's Gwen? And Owen, Tosh, and Ianto?"

"How-"

"Oh yeah, I'm Genie Diamond."

"You get used to it," said the Doctor.

"Excuse me! Who's Rose?" Martha turned to the Doctor. "You mentioned her when we met Shakespeare."

"A blonde. One of his companions. He only stays with you if you're blonde," he joked. Genie suddenly noticed that she was blonde, too. Funny the things you've been all your life that you realize at random times when they're mentioned.

"Companions? Plural?" she asked.

"Well he is around 900 years old," said Jack.

"'That's one hell of an age gap,'" Genie quoted. "Anyway, what do you want him to do, be alone?"

The Doctor was just staring off into space. Martha had the an expression of guilt on her face, and Jack looked very depressed.

"Right then," Genie broke the silence. "Should we get to that building before the mutant humans attack us?"

"Mutant humans?" they all repeated.

"Yes. Duh." And she started running towards the chain link fence. "Come on." She said running backwards. "We've got an awful lot of running to do." And with that she turned around without waiting for them to follow.

Hey guys! So, to those reading this, I'm really thankful. I want to be a writer, and writing fanfiction and knowing at some people are reading it is a great encouragement. Sorry this chapter was up a little later then usual. I had writer's block, which is weird because the first part of the "Utopia" episode was basically this whole chapter. I know it's not exactly the same, but that comes into play at the end of this fanfiction, and those reading, don't worry, there's a sequel. I'm also starting asking for a certain amount of votes for a new chapter since I've already written several chapters, but I'm starting little so...
