Chapter 18: I still need you

Ashley's p.o.v

'Val don't go please!' I cried as he was packing his stuff.

'I have to' he just answered.

'But I'll miss you so much, you can't leave me and mister teddy alone!' I whined.

Val just shook his head.

'Look, mister teddy agrees, don't you?' I cried asking the stuffed bear.

'Of course I don't want you to go Val, ashley and I would be devastated' I said in a weird voice, shaking the bear pretending he was the one talking.

'You seriously haven't changed, not even one bit, still the same kid' he smiled.

'Does that mean you're going to stay?' I bit my bottom lip.

'No, sorry' he answered.

'But I need you Val' I complained jumping on his back.

'Get off me ash, I need to make sure I don't forget anything' he said.

I was still on his back wrapping my arms around his neck so tight I think I'm choking him, I looked over to see what was he packing.

'Why is there a pack of condoms? Which gang member are you going to fuck?' I laughed.

He then made me get off him.

'Mind your language ashley' he glared at me.

'I'm just kidding, don't be a bitch' I winked at him, I knew that it annoyed him when I cussed, that's why I do it on purpose.

'No more cussing' he sighed.

'See, you can't go, you have to raise me' I smiled smugly.

'Ashley, you're 16, stop pissing me off and grow up!' He spat.

'Okay okay' I put my hands up in defense. The doorbell rang, so I got it and it was Dylan and Lucas, with their luggage.

'Hey cupcake' Dylan winked at me, while Lucas just pinched my cheek.

They walked in the living room where Val was.

'You guys ready?' Val asked as they nodded.

'Don't go' I mumbled.

'Aw it's okay ash, you'll see us soon' Dylan drawled.

'I think we should leave' Val said.

'DON'T GO DONT GO DONT GO I'LL DIE' I threw a tantrum. Val facepalmed.

'Thats cute, we'll miss you too' Lucas smiled.

'Im serious, you guys, let the police do the dirty work for you, stay here and we could be happy unicorns dancing on rainbows' I uttered.

'Nope' Val sighed.

'Ashley, can I talk to you, alone?' Dylan asked, I just nodded while Val on the other hand glared at us. Lets say Val is just strict when it comes to guys talking to me.

We went in my room, as I sat on the edge of the bed.

'So listen, at the gym, when you said I don't talk about my feelings and shit, well yeah it's true, I don't know how to express myself, so I simply don't. But you know, since I might not get out of this trip alive, I Probably should let you know that you mean a lot to me' he said taking a breath. 'And I know all we mostly do, is bitch at each other, but you honestly got under my skin, and now there's no chance in hell that I'm ever giving up on a girl like you' he continued. I was speechless for a moment.

'Then why are you leaving Dylan, don't' I spoke.

'It has to be done ashley, I need to stop this crazy bitch, my dad couldn't, and my mom paid the price, she died, not even knowing the enemy who was coming after her' he said.

'Promise me you guys won't be long, and you'll return, promise me to be extra careful, because I swear if something happens to any of you' I stuttered.

'Nothing will happen, I promise' he nodded.

'You guys are family now, and to tell you the truth, you got under my skin as well' I said as he smirked.

'There's that famous smirk!' I laughed.

'And there's that cute laugh' he smiled. He actually smiled, it wasn't smug, it was beautiful and genuine.

'Here I got you something' he said dropping his bag and taking a box. He placed it on the bed next to me.

'I have to leave' he pressed his lips into a thin line, before turning around.

I got up and walked fast towards him, I turned him around before wrapping my arms around his neck and crashing my lips into his. He wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed me back, I then jumped on him wrapping my legs around his waist, it was my first kiss, and I didn't know if I was doing it right, I was just too caught up in the moment. He then walked towards the bed as I suddenly felt my back pressed against the mattress, he didn't break the kiss. Suddenly, someone knocked on the door, Dylan pulled away and got up.

'Dylan, we have to leave' I heard Val's voice say. I sighed as Dylan cursed underneath his breath.

I got up and hugged him, he cupped my cheeks placing one last kiss on my lips.

We then got out of the room and went downstairs. Everyone was there, including Sarah, she wanted to say goodbye to tyler. They looked adorable sitting next to each other, but at the same time looking at them made my heart melt, he was sad, and she looked depressed.

'Bye guys' max said. I hugged them all, and lastly Val. I think I teared up a bit when he kissed me on the head.

'You guys, stay safe' Sarah told them.

'Don't worry girls, these boys are tough' Nicole smiled hugging Lucas.

They finally left. And I had a really bad feeling about this trip.

Sarah and I were both sitting on the couch, not saying a single word.

'Oh c'mon girls, I'll order some food, I'm sure that will make you happy' she winked at us.

We both gave her a weak smile, and then I remembered the box Dylan gave me, I didn't open it. I ran upstairs to my room, before opening the box. My diary was there, and on top of it, a small piece of paper written by Dylan.

"I love you" I read.
