Chapter 24: Who's telling the truth?

Ashley's p.o.v

Nicole arrived 30 minutes after April has left. She walked in and saw the confused look I had on my face.

'Don't worry ashley, I talked to Val...it's me he's mad at not you' she sighed.

'Its not about Val Nicole...and it was my fault not yours' I told her.

'You were on my private jet, it's my fault' she answered.

'April was here' I informed her.

'What?!' She frowned. 'She was here, in our hotel room, ashley we need to leave, that means this place isn't safe anymore!' She started pacing.

'If she wanted to hurt me, she would have killed me, I've had several encounters with her and nothing happened' I beamed.

'You're her daughter after all' Nicole looked down.

'Please don't call me that' I said disgusted.

'But, it's the truth, and you have to live with it' she said.

'Yeah' I agreed. I wasn't in the mood to sass back. 'Well, I know the reason why max is in a gang...what's yours?' I asked.

'Its complicated' she sighed.

'Ive got time' I insisted.

'As a teenage girl my grades were perfect, my parents were rich, well, I was like daddy's little princess...until mom decided to leave the house for another man..dad started traveling a lot, and then I felt lonely. That's when I stopped being this wanna be princess, I met Val, and we soon became best friends..and then I met Lucas. Afterwards came Dylan, and lastly max..that's how it all started. And our plan ever since was to get to April...precisely two years ago' she told me.

'I know why you're in the gang, why Dylan and max are, but what are Lucas and Val's reasons?' I asked.

'You'll have to know that from them' she said.

And then my phone buzzed, it was Dylan. I answered annoyed, 'what?'

'We need to talk' he sighed.

'I have nothing to say' I told him.

'Well I have a lot to say' he retorted.

'Okay, meet me in the hotel's cafe' I suggested.

'Deal' he said before hanging up.

'Ashley..you know I dislike Dylan...but hear him out, and by the way, Val called me earlier saying I should take you back to Ohio by tomorrow' she confessed.

'Now I'll go talk to Dylan, and yeah I might go back to Ohio. I don't care anymore, at least I still have Stephanie and Sarah there, Im sure I disappointed both of them by coming, but you know what I'm used to being a disappointment' I shrugged.

'Ashley don't say that it's not true' she said.

'It is true, my grades are barely average, I piss people off, and all I can do is get myself into trouble. I'm not a good sister since I'm always upsetting Val, and lastly I'm a terrible best friend for leaving Sarah, although she told me she didn't want me to go' I took a deep breath.

Nicole didn't say anything, she simply hugged me before I excused myself and headed towards the hotel's cafe to see Dylan.

I saw him sitting on a table in the corner, so I went towards him and took a seat as he greeted me.

'So...are you gonna tell me the truth?' I asked, instantly getting to the point of our little meeting.

He took a deep breath before he started talking. 'When I told you I killed Mia jones I wasn't lying, if I was there with her, those guys wouldn't have abused her, she wouldn't have suicided. She'd be alive today..I blame myself for her death ever since'

'So you do have feelings' I said. 'I mean, I'm sorry, I'm just really mad at you right now, but look it wasn't your fault, you weren't the one who raped her, besides you didn't kill her, she decided to end her life, and she did say what was the real cause of her death in the letter, she didn't say at all it was you, in fact, she said she loved you' I emphasized on the word 'loved'.

'I don't care ashley, I should have known that everyone around me dies, and just like I said, I don't care' he insisted.

'And just like I told you before, you do' I spoke.

'Whatever keep telling yourself that' he shrugged.

I was about to answer him but I got a phone call. I answered and of course, it had to be that psychotic bitch.

'What do you want April!' I snapped. Dylan's eyes widen as he took the phone instantly.

'Trust me your empty threats don't scare me April' he told her.

'Yeah sure, lie to yourself, but you wanna know what? You're nothing more than a needy, clingy, man crazed psychopath' he hissed at her.

I was trying to figure out what they were talking about and what were her threats.

'I will smile when I look down at your dead body' he spat before hanging up, and giving me back my phone.

'What?' I asked him.

'As usual, that bitch said if we don't leave, she will kill someone' he sighed.

'Someone..who?' I asked. He kept on looking at me but he didn't answer my question.

'Me?' I questioned.

'Trust me, you'd be the last person she wants to kill' he said.

Val suddenly came into the cafe, walking fast, Nicole following him.

'Ashley, Nicole packed your stuff you're leaving with her right now back to Ohio' he informed me.

'Im not' I replied.

'You either get up right now, or I'm gonna make you' he threatened.

'I can help you guys' I told them.

'You can't, you have to leave, tonight we make our first move' he said looking at Dylan, as Dylan nodded. 'Look, there's a gun in my room, in my closet' Val whispered.

'Why are you telling me this?' I frowned.

'Ashley just go back you have to' Val said.

'Im not!' I yelled. Some people stared at us. 'You can't force me' I shrugged.

'As your legal guardian yeah I can' he glared at me. That shut me up. He then took my phone and ran outside the cafe, I followed him, so did Dylan and Nicole.

'Give me the phone Val' I ordered him. What he did was so childish but hey look who's talking.

'Ill give it to you if you get in the car' he smirked. Ugh. I gave up and We all got in the car.

'Where to?' Dylan asked.

'Im just driving them to the airport, Nicole's jet is parked there' Val said.

'I hate you' I mumbled.

'Heard that' he answered.
