Chapter 45: endless torment

Ashley's p.o.v

I haven't left Dylan's side since the past three days, he didn't wake up yet. However the doctor told me that the chance of survival was increasing. Tonight was prom night, and Sarah is trying to drag me over there, but I told her I will not leave the damn hospital room without Dylan with me.

Suddenly someone walked in. It was Sarah and max.

'Hey' I smiled.

'Ash you're a mess' Sarah instantly got to the point.

'Maybe' I sighed.

'I mean look at you, you look half dead, you need to just get out of this place and refresh a bit' she uttered.

'I can't do that' I told her.

'Yes you can, I'll take you to prom' max said.

'Thanks max but I can't party while Dylan is like this, that's crazy' I told them. Imagine partying and your boyfriend is in the hospital half dead.

'Just an hour, just for your to breathe and you'll come back. I swear' Sarah said.

'No-' I started but was interrupted.

'Do it for Dylan, he doesn't you to be that depressed. Let's go, get you a dress, apply make up, you need this' she said.

'You know what?' I snapped.

'Yes?' Max asked.

'I will go only for thirty minutes, to say goodbye to all of our classmates, and then I'll be back here' I told her.

'YES!' She screeched.

'Mission accomplished' max said before fistbumping Sarah. I tried to smile, I really did, but it was impossible.

Why did they have to drag me there?

Valentino's p.o.v

The rest of the gang and I were still trying to find out who would want to kill Dylan..the choices were many. Of course through the years, Dylan had to fight and cause so much trouble with many people. Between stealing, lying, killing...
That's why I didn't want to take part of it anymore, lately, we haven't been doing anything like that. They've been actually trying to be good for ashley and Sarah. But well, we were still gonna be family. No matter what. I hope so.

'I just had a crazy thought' Lucas said.

'What?' I told him.

'You remember April jones?' He asked as I rolled my eyes at him.

'How could I ever forget' I said.

'Her daughter Mia, there was never any proof, that she suicided' Lucas spoke.

'Are you crazy? Are you out of your mind! We both read her suicide note' I said frustrated.

'But they never found the body Val!' Lucas yelled.

'She threw herself somewhere, it's not the first time bodies aren't found' I told him.

'Lucas has a point Val, what if she just wanted to escape everything, so she wanted to make everyone believe she died' nicole finally spoke.

'It doesn't make sense, why would she suddenly return?' I asked.

'Must have found out April died' Lucas sighed.

'And so she wants revenge on Dylan?' I questioned.

'What if ashley was the target?' Nicole asked.

'I don't know. But I wouldn't be surprised if Mia intended on killing her sister. She is as crazy as her mom. I plan on keeping ashley away from all this shit, I don't want her to know anything' I told them.

'Then we better keep our eyes wide open' Lucas muttered.

Ashley's p.o.v

I wore a really lame dress, plain black and short, I just found it in my closet and wore it. I couldn't care one bit about this night, I'll go just for my friends.

I straightened my hair fast and applied some lipstick and concealer with mascara. I'm done and I'm so not up for this shit.

Max came and picked me up, there was tyler and sarah in the car with us as well.

We finally got to the school's gymnasium, and it was well decorated.

I sat on a table as tyler and Sarah went to get themselves some drinks.

'Are you okay?' Max asked.

'Yeah' I answered.

'He's gonna be okay' max said. I didn't say anything. All I could think about was Dylan. I loved him so much. I could get out of this place in thirty minutes, I would keep my deal that way.

I told max I needed to go to the bathroom, once I got there I checked myself in the mirror. I did look dead. The concealer wasn't hiding anything.

'Hey' a girl said behind me. I turned around and looked at her. She looked awfully familiar.

'Hey..' I waved my hand signaling I didn't know her name.

'Mia' she answered as it shot me like a bullet.

She saw how shocked I was, she knew that I knew everything, and in that moment I was hoping max would ask about me cause I felt really awkward.

'You're April's daughter' it was more of a statement than a question.

'Yes' she simply answered.

'You're supposed to be dead' I said.

'Like our mom?' She shook her head.

'They told me you died' I said.

'That's what they think' she breathed.

'What happened' I spoke.

'What you need to know is that you're in great danger' she said.

'Why is that?' I asked.

'The people who messed up with Dylan's motorcycle, they weren't after him. They're after you. And they're after me too' she said.

'What' I snapped.

'They want to kill us both ashley, we are April's daughter, they're going to take us away, and we will die' she said.

'How am I supposed to trust you!' I yelled.

'You're gonna have to, because your gang can't save you, and if you go down I go down with you!' She yelled back.

'What the fuck are you saying! Why did you suddenly decide to come into my life!' I screamed.

'Because my life and yours are in danger, I don't know what to do. I came to seek help. And we better come up with something soon!' She said.

'Let's start by calling the police' I told her.

'Then they'll know Im still alive, I can't tell them why I ran away' she said.

'Why did you?' I asked her.

'It doesn't matter right now, all what matters is that we need to hide, they probably found us by now' she said.

Suddenly we heard the fire alarm.

We ran outside the bathroom to find fire everywhere.

'MAX! SARAH!' I yelled as Mia tugged on my arm.

'They're here we need to go!' She yelled.

'Im not leaving without my friends!' I screamed.

'ASHLEY COME!' She yelled before she grabbed my arm and started pulling me.
