Chapter 13: Meeting April

Ashley's p.o.v

'Dylan what the hell is wrong with you?' I asked him.

He facepalmed before winking at me, was he trying to give me a sign? Because tyler just oohed and max nodded.

'Just act as if I'm really threatening you' Dylan whispered.

April's door swung open and a brunette who looked like in her late thirties got out. I'm guessing it was April cause their heads snapped towards her direction. She saw us and froze.

'What are you doing?' She yelled.

Dylan pulled me by my arm close to him and pressed the gun on my head. I know he wasn't gonna do anything, yet I was scared. I mean what if he accidentally pulls the trigger? I know it's impossible for that to happen accidentally but still, I'm scared.

'Do you know who's that girl?' Dylan asked her, his voice full of amusement.

'I don't know' she shrugged, before eyeing me up and down, then she gasped.

'Ashley?' Her eyes widen.

'What the fuck is happening?!' Val yelled coming out of nowhere, Lucas following him.

Oh shit...Val didn't know Dylan was acting.

'Valentino carter?' April turned to him.

'April jones?' Val spat.

'Looks like your gang leader is trying to kill my daughter' she said.

She called me her daughter. I wasn't, and I never will be.

'Your daughter?' Val laughed. 'Do you even care about her?' Val shook his head.

'Tell me right now where your gang is hiding April, or I'll kill your daughter' Dylan said emphasizing on the word daughter.

'Then kill her' she laughed storming off. Tyler and max ran after her, followed by Val and Lucas. I turned to Dylan.

'Yeah you were right, she doesn't care about anyone but herself' I sighed.

'Come here' he said opening his arms.

'I don't need your pity' I spat following the rest of the gang. Okay fine, that was rude of me, but I was pissed off at him, for scaring the crap outta me.

'Where is she?' I asked max.

'She ran away, I don't know how that bitch escaped' he shrugged.

'But one thing is for sure, she's not coming back to that house, she knows we're gonna come back' tyler said.

'Lets go searching in that direction, she's gotta be somewhere close' Lucas suggested.

'Let's go' I was about to follow them when Val grabbed my wrist.

'Ah ah, you're going home right now ashley' Val purred.

'Oh hell no' I protested.

'I remember telling you clearly stay home, yet you followed us and did a plan with Dylan' he spat.

'I can take her home if you want to Val' Lucas proposed.

'Im 16 years old you peasants' I shook my head.

'Yes take her' Val agreed with him.

'Cmon' Lucas said walking in front of me. I rolled my eyes before following him.

Lucas looked at me smiling, I gave him a death glare.

'Val is just trying to protect you ashley' he said, I kept on walking not even looking at him.

'Don't be like that' he sighed.

'Well you don't have an older brother who's always trying to control your life right?' I sassed, he just shook his head.

We were almost gonna reach my house until I had a brilliant idea.

'Lucas, I think I found Amy' I told him.

'Where?' He asked.

'Over there' I pointed my finger towards his left, he looked and I ran as if my life depended on it. I was laughing my ass off.

'Hey get back here' Lucas yelled following me.

I started taking turns, in order to get him lost. I might be new to this place but I already know the shortcuts and alleys.

Soon enough, I couldn't see Lucas anymore. I finally stopped and took a deep breath.

I leaned on the wall and started thinking about things..how did my life get so confusing..plus I'm not even thinking anymore about school, two more month and we take vacation, I guess I'll have one less problem. But then, there's college, ugh.

'Ashley' someone interrupted my thoughts, I looked to my right and saw April.

'Get away from me' I said disgusted.

'No, wait, let me explain myself' she started.

'Explain what? You want to explain to me how you killed Dylan's family? How you burned his house? Tell me April is there anything left to explain? Or maybe you want to explain to me how on earth a person like you could be my birth mom huh?' I exploded.

'Ashley, you wouldn't understand why I did what I did anyway, it's a fight between gangs and it doesn't concern you' she said.

'Okay great, have a nice day, bye' I was about to leave when she called my name.

'Stay away from Dylan's gang ashley, or you're going to become a serial killer like me. And I don't want that for my daughter..even if it means leaving your brother Valentino, so be it, just don't get near their gang' April said.

'Daughter? Do you even care about me? Just remember that when Dylan was threatening to kill me, you stormed off not looking back' I told her.

'It was obvious that it was an act! You want me to believe that Dylan, your brother's best friend was going to kill you?!' She yelled.

'Just know that I'm never leaving Valentino, he's the only one who ever cared about me, and he might not be my brother by blood, but he's the closest person in this world to me' I stated.

'So you're part of their gang now?' She shook her head disgusted.

'Maybe' I said before leaving. I was walking back home when Lucas came out of nowhere.

'There you are!' He said looking pissed off.

'Oh hey Lucas' I smiled innocently.

'Where did you go?' He asked me and I told him everything that happened with April.

'That wasn't a safe encounter' Lucas stated.

'Yeah your right..lets go back to the gang' I said but this time he grabbed my arm before carrying me on his shoulder.

'Hey put me down' I laughed.

'Are you going to run again?' He asked.

'No promises' I smirked.

'Yeah we're going home' he said as he carried me towards the house.
