Paige's POV
Right now Jack is currently playing poker with my grandmother. He is loosing miserably but he is being a good sport.
"Jack I thought you told me you knew how to play poker." My Mammow said laughing
"I do but you are just really good at it." he said laughing
"Paige honey can you help me get some snacks?" My Aunt Jenny asked me
"Yeah sure." I said following her into the kitchen
"Alright what kind of food do you guys have?" she asked opening up the cabnets
"Well dad really loves his takeout. But I just bought some pretzals and chips." I replied getting out some bowels
"So how long have you and Jack been dating for?"
"About a month and a half now. I really love him." I said looking down blushing
"I know you do I can tell. He really loves you too he has that certain look in his eyes. I like him he is a true gentleman." she said laughing
"Thanks. He just isn't like the others." I said shrugging my shoulders
"You should bring him to Tennesse this summer." she said getting all excited
"No I am not doing that. He won't want to date me after that." I said laughing as we walked into the living room
"I lost bad." Jack said shaking his head
"Honey I will teach you my secrets." my mammow said patting his knee
"So Paige Jack here was telling me you guy have your big homecoming dance coming up. You are going to send me pictures right?" she asked taking a sip of her water
"Yeah of course. Any suggestions how I should do my hair?"
"I think it looks really pretty when it is curled." she said smiling. She started coughing really bad and excused herself.
"How is she doing? Like really doing?" I asked my aunt
"The doctors said the cancer has gotten worse and it is starting to spread to her lungs. They also found another tumour." my aunt said gently
"Did they say how long she has?" I asked swallowing the tears
"They said they didn't know." she said shaking her head
Jack stayed for an hour more and then I walked him outside to his car.
"Well thank you for coming tonight." I said smiling at him
"Well thak you for inviting me I had fun. Your family is awesome." he said tucking a piece of hair behind my ear
"Thanks they love you too. So you are picking me up tomorrow right?"
"Yupp my mom said lunch starts at 12 so I will pick you up by 11:45." he said pulling me in for a hug
"What is this for?" I asked snuggling into his chest
"I'm sorry about your grandmother."
"It's ok she has been sick for two years now. She has brest cancer like what my mom had."
"Does it run in the family?"
"Yeah the doctor said it is genetic." I said shrugging
"Well if you ever need anything just know that I am here." he said lightly kissing my forehead
"Thank you. Be safe driving home please. I love you." I said kissing him
"I love you too." he said before getting into his car and driving off
