opening night

three months later

as rachel berry takes to the stage for the opening night performance of thoroughly modern millie she only sees one person even though the theatre is full to capacity. there he sits on the front row smiling proudly at her as she walks to the front of the stage to a round of applause.

as the play progresses she sees her friends kurt blaine santana brittany quinn hunter thad nick trent flint and her dads aswell as sebastian's mom all sat there giving her encouraging smiles.

rachel cant get over the feeling she has right now on the stage she always felt a certain freedom on stage that she could truly let go of everything else jesse had taken that from her depicting what she did what roles she got now she was finally free of him. all those times he told her she was only good because he made her so were history now she was here because she was good she worked hard she deserved the standing ovation she was getting as the play came to an end the thrill of being able to do it all over again tomorrow was incredible.

she saw sebastian making his way through the crowd she knew he was heading to her dressing room she tuck one more bow before leaving the stage.

she quickly as she could made her way to her dressing room as fellow cast members congratulated her on her performance she was grateful but there was only one persons opinion she wanted to know.

as she entered her room she saw him stood waiting for her he turned his eyes telling her she was perfect tonight like they did everything she looked into them.

" you were amazingly phenomenal " sebastian said pulling her to him.

" thank you" rachel said cuddling up to him

" i dont think i have ever being as proud of you i had all on to tell the people sitying behind nme that you were mine" sebastian said

" i wouldn't have minded if you had" rachel said before they kissed

" you really do belong on stage" sebastian said

" i feel at peace when i am" rachel said

" i feel that with you " sebastian said

" i feel that way with you too" rachel said

" i know our friends want to see you they have headed to a local bar to celebrate but i wondered if you would go for a walk with me" sebastian asked

" a walk" rachel asked surprised

" yeah not far im just not ready to share you yet" sebastian said raising her hand to his mouth and kissing the back of it.

" ok ii will just get changed" rachel said sebastian nodded

rachel began to remove her costume clothing she noticed sebastian was watching her intensely

" honestly " rachel said

" what you told me i had the best sit in the house " sebastian smirked

once rachel was dressed in her own clothes heheld out his arm for her and they made their was to the staff exit to avoid the crowd of people leaving.

it was a cold night as they set off walking rachel was linking him closely wondering where they were going 2hen he stopped suddenly.

" seb" rachel said

" told you it wasnt far" sebastian chuckled

" what on earth" rachel asked then realised where they were they were stood outside the theatre where thelast tony awards were held. infact they were syood innthe very spot they had seen  each other for the first time since graduating high school.

" this is where we sort of met again" sebastian said

" i remember " rachel smiled as she spoke

" that was quite a night" sebastian said

" yeah it was" rachel said

" funny when you think about it" sebastian said

" funny" rachel asked

"well it was the tony awards yet i cant help but feel like i got the best prize" sebastian said steoking her face as she blushed.

" im the lucky one" rachel said

" it was fate we were supposed to meet that night" sebastian said

" it was weird i mean of all the people and places in new york we ran into each other" rachel said

" i know we haven't being together that long not really but so much has haplened so much is happening you with the play and me becoming a partner at the firm everything is like its on track now" sebastian said

" yeah i know what you mean" rachel asked

" trains run on tracks" sebastian said

" yeah" rachel said alittle baffled by that comment

" trains have a destination and stops along the way " sebastian said

" yeah" rachel said amused

" well i think we a have arrived at our next stop" sebastian said before taking her and and dropping on one knee....
