Chapter 18

"Well," CJ sighs, looking at the portal, "here we are."
I step forward, reaching into my hat to grab my ball only to touch nothing but air.
"What's wrong, Lennu?" Kitty's ears twitch.
I frown. "My ball. Jyugo must still have it."
"So what do we do? Do we jump and hope for the best?" CJ looks at me.
Before I can respond, a girly scream cuts me off and Uno launches out of the portal.
"Uff." The Brit knocks us both to the ground, his face falling into my chest.
"Mmm," he nuzzles into me.
I shove him off in disgust only to hear another, slightly lower yell echo from the portal. Not ready to have all members of cell 13 to become aquatinted with my chest, I scuttle out of the way and only to have Uno be crushed under The Beef's weight.
"Ow." Uno moans.
"Serves you right." Kitty hisses, flicking him with her tail.
"Sorry man." Rock stands and offers Uno a hand.
The two get to their feet, only to have Nico and Jyugo leap through and knock them to the floor once again.
My cellmates and I attempt to stifle our laughter, but have varying levels of success. The pile of boys untangle themselves and stand to greet us.
"Hello again." Uno grins, removing his hat and dropping into a dramatic bow. "I don't believe we've formally met." He grabs CJ's hand and attempts to kiss it.
"I'm CJ." She says, snapping her hand back.
Uno looks sad at this negative reaction, but tries the same move on Kitty.
"That's my hand." She pulls it out of his reach. "I only have one, except for my other one."
Uno looks at her, waiting for her to say her name.
CJ elbows her in the ribs. "He wants your name."
"Oh!" Kitty catches on. "I'm Kitty."
Uno then looks at me.
"If you try to kiss my hand, I'll slap you."
Uno wiggles his eyebrows and smirks. "Where?"
"And you say I'll never get a girlfriend." Jyugo mutters behind him.
I snort and instead extend a hand to shake. "I'm Lenny."
Uno takes it and gives me a firm shake.
"Uno." He says. "And that's Rock, Nico, and Jyugo." He points to each boy respectively.
I shake the others hands as well and CJ and Kitty do the same. Rock and Jyugo greet us as well, Nico, however, replaces his handshake for a hug.
"So what's the plan?" I ask, after everyone has been introduced.
"Weren't we breaking out to see your friend, Sally?" Rock offers.
"Saika." CJ corrects.
"Right."
"Oh!" Kitty bounces on her toes, tail twitching excitedly. "Mustaches!"
I turn to see her hands full of cheesy, stick on mustaches.
"Do I wanna know where you got those?" I ask.
Kitty shrugs. "Probably not."
"Right. Besides mustaches, does anyone have a plan?"
"What were you guys doing before we showed up?" Uno asks.
I rub my head. "We intended to head over to you guy and bust you out and work from there. Kitty thinks Saika's probably on your side anywa-"
The sound of approaching footsteps cuts me off. I glance at my watch.
"Shit, it's Seitarou!" I hiss.
"Back through the portal." Uno begins shoving his cellmates through and I do the same.
The cold air hits once again and the group of us are shoved through the void. We land in a heap on the other side, Uno, once again, buried in my chest.
"Maybe it's fate." His voice is muffled by my jumpsuit. "Maybe you should just let it happen."
I shove him off. "Now is not the time." I stand and help my cellmates to their feet. "We need to get out of here before Seitarou comes through as well."
"Alright," CJ rubs her hands together, "let's do some jail breaking."
