Chapter 35

We cross over the threshold and the strong perfumed stench only gets stronger.
"So," I ask, "what's the plan? I mean, where do you think Saika would be?"
Uno places Rock's hand to his chin. "It might be safe to assume that this building's layout would be similar to 13's, and Saika, as a guard, would likely be in the guard's break room." He turns to Jyugo who is messing with Kitty's tail. "Where do you think that'd be?"
Jyugo looks up and examines the two hallways stretched out before us. He takes a deep breath in.
"That way." He points to the left corridor. "The Kiji smell is strongest there."
We all start to move only to notice Kitty's not following.
"Kit Kat?" I take a step towards her.
Kitty looks down and fidgets. "Once we see Saika, this fic ends."
I sigh. "I know. But this fic has been longer than I planned to even write in the first place. Sure, I had fun writing it, but it's time to reach our goal." I hold out my hand to her. "You ready?"
