Chapter 21

Lenny's POV

"Don't you think these traps are just getting weirder?" I duck to avoid a lizard being launched at my face.
Jyugo shrugs and also ducks as an enormous frog flies over his head. "Haven't you ever escaped before?"
I snort. "I don't tend to go far enough to have to dodge flying reptiles and amphibians."
"Aw don't you think it's kinda cute?" CJ nuzzles one of the frogs.
"Kiss it," Kitty suggests, "maybe it'll turn into a prince."
"Whatever it turns into, ten bucks says it's prettier than Uno." I grin at the British boy.
Uno glares at me but doesn't reply.
"What if it doesn't turn into anything?" Nico asks.
My smile grows wider. "My point still stands."
"Listen her-" Uno prepares to drop his own snarky comment in return but is interrupted by a frog smacking him in the face.
"Hey guys, look." I hold the frog up next to his face.
"Twins." Rock grins.
I am caught up in teasing Uno, I don't see the lizard flying through the air until it hits me. Uno also pulls the reptile off my face and holds it beside me.
"Hey guys look." He says in a terrible American accent. "Twins."
I burst out laughing. "Sorry Uno, but I'm not sure what's worse," I cackle, "that fake accent or your face."
Jyugo scratches his chin. "I dunno. They're both pretty bad."
"Uh guys?" CJ turns our attention back to the task at hand.
We've come to the end of the room and the only thing stopping our progress is a heavy metal door with a large pink six painted on it. Jyugo cracks his knuckles and steps up to the doors lock. The light on the lock switches to green and lets out a cheerful ding! Uno steps forward to swing open the door. It opens to revel Seitarou and...oh shit.
"Hello." Sully wiggles her fingers in greeting.
"Goodbye!" Uno slams the door back shut and presses his weight against it.
The door thumps and rattles as Sully and Seitarou work to get in. The rest of us also join Uno in pressing against the door.
"Who was that?" Kitty asks.
"Sully. She used to be a pharmacist but was pretty good with catching inmates, so she got promoted." Rock explains.
"So how do we get past her?" CJ asks, taking this opportunity to inch her way next to Jyugo.
"You don't. You run." Uno replies, noticing the fact that CJ left his side to be closer to Jyugo.
"That's not an option." Kitty states. "I wanna see Saika."
"With Sully now in cahoots with Seitarou, our chances of a successful escape have significantly dropped." I say.
Kitty thinks for a minute. "So you're saying if Sully's out of the picture, we'd see Saika?"
"Not for certain, but our chances would certainly increase.
I see an evil grin cross Kitty's face for the first time.
"Guys," she smiles, "I know exactly what to do."
