Cory couldn't believe it. Uni isn't here. He is not in this town. A hand subconsciously went to touch the gate, as he bowed his head in disbelief.

Then he heard voices and loud banging. Moments later, heavily armored men bursted through the door. "Sir, you've been in a freak accident and haven't fully recovered yet, you have to come with us." One said.

Cory spared one look at the dog, and got up. He had to suppress the urge to roll his eyes when they came. Why did these guys come with armor and guns? "Really paranoid these guys." He thought.

As they reached the outside, he saw the sun setting over the horizon. Then the tiredness hit him full force. He never realized how fatigued he felt.

When the group reached Cory's room in the hospital, a doctor came in with, of course, makeup on. "Hello fellas! I believe that's my patient right there." He said.

"Your patient? What about Dawn?" Cory questioned.

The new doctor waved him off. "He has other people to take care of, so they booked you with me." Cory felt dread creeping up his back. He was more comfortable with Dawn treating him. Even with his memory loss.

The doctor started to take his check up. Then he started to poke and prod him, especially with his camera for a face. He started to get nervous and wary of this guy. Eventually he had enough. "Do you mind?" He said annoyed.

The doctor jumped back. "Sorry, it's just a bit fascinating. Well, I believe that's everything. The things to worry about are your wounds, so be careful. And of course your, ahem, psychological problem." At this, Cory rolled his eyes. "Now I think you need a good night sleep. So go and get some rest."

With that, his "medical helper" bid his goodbyes and left. It was around 8:30 at night. Cory got up and looked out the window. The town was quiet, with lights illuminating it. He sighed, and went to switch his light off. Once he did, it got really dark, making him more content to sleep.

He slipped into his hospital bed and closed his eyes. I'm his mind he went over today's events. Safe to say, he never felt this alone. He'd rather be in the wasteland with his friends then be in this "safe zone" without them.

He rolled on his side. Dawn and Nick are strangers to him. They don't remember the adventures they shared. They don't remember him at all. Why?

Cory felt tears welling in his eyes. He closed them gently, then entered the realm of sleep.

In a courtroom, Nick flinched as his mayor slammed her fist on the judges' desk. She was furious, why hasn't it worked? It has worked before! Why not now?!

When Nick came to report his status on this, she was mad that the convincing didn't work. Apparently Cory wasn't having it. He was unfortunately to determined to find the truth. "To bad he will never will." The mayor thought. A cold smile spread across her face.

Nick saw this, he knew exactly what happened. "What do you have in mind for our friend to go with the plan Mayor Aphmau?"

A crazed laugh escaped her lips. She smiled evilly. "I have the perfect solution."

"... I'm listening."
