A Dream Or Something Else

Over 500 words were deleted because my phone didn't save for some reason even though I hit save. So I had to do this all over again. Let's just say... I was super ******.

That night Cory had a vivid dream.

He was standing outside of a green field. He saw a wooden house. The air was nice.

Cory looked down at his hands, he felt a strange feeling. A feeling of...familiarity.

He saw two figures walk into the house. "No way..." he stared at them agape.

    They encountered him last night.

"This is just a dream. Just..." he breathed, "a vivid dream."

"Ah I see, you are experiencing false memories from your accident. Only a vivid dream you had." He heard a voice echo through his head.

The same type of voice that robot spoke with. "Greetings Adam."

    "Hey Dawn. Seen Cory anywhere?"

Cory gasped. Where those people he meet telling the truth? He shook his head. No, this is just his brain twisting what he saw.

"Not since yesterday. Last I checked, I saw him and Uni were having a talk with Uni by the lake."

    "Huh."

The robot turned to him. "You know Adam? It's strange."

Adam tilted his head. "What is?"

"I got some memories that have recently returned to me. Memories of before. Hundreds of years ago. Back when I served Cory. I guess being in this setting switched up my hard drive." Dawn hypothesized.

"That's great Dawnsworth!" Said Adam cheerfully.

Dawn shook his head. "No Adam. What I'm trying to say is...they were sad memories." His face was unreadable. "From what I recall, Cory didn't like the old world. The commute, the restraints, the day to day crimes. He always hated it. I could tell."

Adam put a hand on his chin. "Hmm..."

Dawn looked out the window. "I just thinks it's funny is all."

    "What is?" Adam questioned.

"That he'd want to return to the way things were."

    The ghoul sighed. "Yeah..."

"Anyway," Dawn sighed, "I hope he finds what he's looking for."

Suddenly, Cory couldn't breath. He collapsed onto the ground wheezing and gasping for breath. It felt like he was inhaling thick smoke. He was coughing violently.

He inwardly shuddered, feeling internally cold. Like his body heat was sucked out of him. He placed a hand over his heart, expecting it to be over a thousand miles per hour. Except...he felt nothing. No heart beat. No pulse.

"What is happening?" He asked himself.

He started to weakly call for help. Hoping anyone on the outside could hear him.

The peaceful scene started to wash away like chalk when it's raining. It all was blurring together. Until it was black.
