Dawn rushed up to Cory in an attempt to stop him and reconsider his decision. "Please sir, you were in a freak accident and your mental state is not stable."

But Cory ignored him and continued on his way. When walking to the exit of the hospital, they passed a few people with that weird makeup Cory saw on the people. "Hey Dawn? Why is everyone wearing this, clown makeup? It's a bit disturbing."

Dawn only gave him an aggravated huff. "I will not say anything until you are back in your hospital room and get some rest."

Cory only rolled his eyes, but then thought of something. "How 'bout this Dawn. I go and find our friends, then at the end of the day, I'll go back with you and I promise I will get some rest. Deal?"

Dawn agreed, mostly because he knew that his patient wasn't going to take "no" for an answer. "At least eat something." He asked exasperated.

Cory only shook his head and replied. "Not hungry."

"I give up on this patient." Dawn muttered.

Finally, they reach the exit. Cory put a tentative hand on the handle. Dawn gave him a look of confusion. Noticing this, Cory took a deep breath and opened the door.

Immediately, wind came and hit his face, and the light from the sun made Cory shade his eyes. He takes a big intake of the air. It was different, but he felt that something wasn't right. He couldn't put his finger on it.

He walked onto the grass with his bare feet. He just noticed that he was still in his hospital gown. "Heh, should've asked Dawn for cloths. Ah well, good thing it covers my backside." He thought.

As he felt the grass, again, he got a funny feeling. He quickly looked behind him, only to see Dawn who is still muttering about his stubbornness. He turned his attention back to the grass. Cory bent down to feel the grass with his hand. He picked a few strands to examine them. The grass feels wrong. Cory frowned at his thoughts. "How can grass feel wrong?" He muttered at loud.

"Excuse me?" Dawn asked.

"Nothing."

He sighed. "So tell me, what are you going to do now?"

"I guess go look around the town. Try to find something." Cory said.

So they went on a normal town stroll. Well, as normal as they can get, with a robot and patient who is still in his gown and bandages. Pedestrians took curious glances as they pasted, which caused Cory to flinch slightly every time he felt a pair of eyes on him.

Soon, the duo came across a statue of a middle aged man with fancy clothing on. Cory bent down to see the caption on the pedestal. It read "SummerVill! Preserving the American way of life!" He raised an eyebrow in suspicion. He got that unsteady feeling again. He felt that the statue is...wrong. But how?

To get his mind off of this he asked, "Isn't "SummerVill" supposed to have an 'e' at the end?"

Dawn took a moment to respond. "I can't explain that, it's probably just how the town was named."

Cory got up, causing his vision to get tipsy. He had to close his eyes and a hand flew to his pounding head.

Dawn noticed this. "I've told you already, you have lost a lot of blood. This is just a side affect that wouldn't have happened if you would've listened to me when I said to go back to bed."

Cory opened his eyes to see that his vision cleared up during Dawn's nagging, but he still felt lightheaded.

They continued with their walk until they stumble upon a lake. He dipped his fingers in the water. The water felt...fake. "How could water be fake?! Water is water. Right?" He mentally screamed. "I'm really going crazy." He thought.

His reflection stared at him, almost in a type of mocking manner. He tried to ignore it and took his appearance into account. He noticed that his golden hair was clean, and that his overall person was cleaner.

Dawn spoke up. "When you were found, you were extremely a mess. So we helped with that.

"Well, it is the wasteland. Or was."

The robot gave a tired sigh. "I doubt that is the reason." He thought.

Cory heaved himself up. "Well, I still have a lot of daylight left, so let's not waste it. Oh, and don't worry Dawn, we will somehow get your memory back."

"I'm not the one with memory problems Cory." Dawn stated.

"Humph, whatever ya say Dawnsworth." He retorted. Cory looked back at the lake. His fingers felt weird after he took them out. He wondered if he should tell the robot, but decided against it because he would say something like "you are just delusional, you need bed rest and blah blah blah." He really didn't want to hear it.

The two started to go near some neighborhoods and shops. Cory was looking everywhere in fascination. They stopped at a sign that said "Ignorance is Bliss" It had a picture of people smiling and laughing. Cory raised an eyebrow in suspicion. "Hey Dawn? What's with the propaganda?" He asked.

"Hm? What are you talking about?" The robot asked.

    Cory deadpanned. "Never mind."

Dawn looked up. "It is around midday, and we have not found anything. Like I said, these "friends" were probably just apart if your dream. Now please sir, you said you wanted to heal, and walking around is not the way to accomplish that."

Cory was about to respond, but a voice interrupted him. A familiar one. "Well heya fellas! Enjoying the fair?"
