04 | Sierra

It was the end of our P.E. class, I sat on the bleachers while my classmates are going to change their clothes. I drink my water before putting my things inside my bag and go change as well.

"I think you need new ones," a husky voice gave me a heart attack, I'm not expecting this. It's Donato Antonio Laxa Pangilinan. He is holding a paperbag handing it to me, "Ano to'?" I ask looking up at him still not accepting the paperbag.

"Just take it," he frowns and I gulped and took it from him, I slowly opened the paperbag seeing a new set of uniform. Why is he doing this?

"Thank you pero you don't have to do this," I stood up from the bleachers and he shook his head. "Mom just told me to hand this to you," he turned around and walks away. Akala ko galing sa kanya, di naman pala. Pero atleast diba meron na akong bagong uniform.

"Sierra, kamusta naman si Donny?" Ma'am Maricel asks as I pass by at the Kindergarten Department, "Okay naman po, nakikinig naman po siya sa akin." I purse my lips in nervous, ang ganda talaga ng mommy ni Donny.

"Mabuti naman kung ganun," she smiled genuinely and then I remembered the new uniform. "Ma'am salamat po sa pinadala mong bagong uniform," I smile at her and she makes this 'what are you talking about' look.

Her brows knitted in confusion, "What do you mean by 'new uniform'?" I rub the back of my neck and now I'm confused. "Uh, yung pinadala niyo po kay Donny." sabi ko.

"I haven't seen him here at school and I don't remember anything about a new uniform." she says, so Donny lied? Why would he do that?

"Ah baka iba yung nagbigay... Sige po aalis na ako." I smiled and she nods, I walk away and went to our building. I keep on thinking why would Donny said that, did he pay for it?

I look around for him and then saw him in the library with Naomi, one of the cheerleaders, long healthy hair and she's always cute in her uniform. Pretty sure they're a thing now, the last time I know is that Naomi is dating Gab, Donny's teammate. Their just sitting and chatting, serious talk I guess.

"Uh, hi... I'm sorry to interrupt, eh-, can I speak to you Donny?" I came out of nowhere interrupting them, he says something to Naomi and she nods. He walks behind a huge bookshelves and then I followed him, "What is it?" he looks down at me, he is too tall for my 5'5 height.

"I spoke to your mom kanina, she told me she doesn't know anything about the new uniform." I explained which made him curse under his breath, "Donny... Sino ba talaga ang nagbigay?" I ask calmly but then my voice is still shaky.

"Why do you want to know?" he raise his brow at me as I rub my elbow in nervous. "I just want to know." I managed to say it.

"It doesn't matter."

I purse my lips and nod, "Kung sino man yun, pakisabi na salamat." I look down and walk away. Kinabahan ako dun ha, wala talaga akong idea kung sino kasi Donny hates me kasi nga tutor niya ako. Hay nako sino kaya yun.

Donny

I check the time, it's 3:38 pm. I had to meet up with my 'tutor' at the library today, ugh. I walk in and then started looking for her, it took me a few minutes to find Sierra. I heard little sobs from the distance, I look through every table between huge bookshelves. The sobs were louder than I expected and then I saw Sierra, she's covering her face with her towel while she continues to cry.

"What's wrong?" I sat at my usual spot, across her. She shooks her head still wiping her tears away with her towel, damn why is she crying? What should I do?

I lean a little bit closer to her and reach for her hands that is on her face, I hold both of her hands and tries to remove it from her face. Her face is really red from all those crying and her hair is a little bit messy.

"I-it's my mom, her condition got worst and she was ran to the hospital." she managed to explain even though she is still sobbing, "Then why are you still here?" I ask looking at her in the eyes. Ang ganda ng mata niya. Punyeta Donny, no time for that.

"I had to work so that I can pay in the hospital." she wipes her tears off from her face, "Let's go, I'm taking you there." I take her hand and drag her out from the library. I drive her to the hospital where her mother has brought in.

As we reach there, she immediately went in and then I just followed her. Saw her hugged her mom tight as she continues to cry, I'm sure she loves her mom so much.

"Thank you ha," she says taking a seat beside me, "Wala yun." I smile a little and she nods. I hate the scent of hospital, it makes me sick. "Pwede kanang umuwi Donny," she stood up and then I followed.

"You sure that you will be okay?" I ask looking down at her, cute height. She nods and says, "Salamat ulit." I smile and nod, then walked out from the hospital.
