18 | Sierra

The night went on so fast, time really flies when you're having fun. I got to talk to my batchmates well, I didn't expect that we'll get along. Despite of our differences, we really are still one.

"Can I have this dance?" a male voice asked then when I saw who it was, I nodded.

As for Donny and I, we got pretty close. Closer than we were few months ago, he's really special to me. Huwag kayong ano, hoy tigil-tigilan niyo yang pinag-iisip ninyo. Kasi nga, he is my first dance, he is the first one to ask me as a date and probably the last. I know things like this won't happen again, kaya I have to enjoy this while it lasts.

He offered his hand which I gladly accepted, he lead the way to the dance floor. As we about to dance, my heart weakened when they played Can I This Dance from High School Musical.

I felt his warm hand on my back as a support, and with that, I feel safe. He held my hand then I placed my other hand on his shoulder. We swayed together with the music. He then pulled me a little closer to him which made me nervous, mygosh Donny you're getting into my nerves.

"Relax, I got you." his words made me think 'it's okay, you can trust him' in this world full of lies. He made me believe that a person can change, like him, he changed. In a way that I never thought.

We continued dancing, I kept looking away because he is really making me nervous. In my peripheral vision, he is staring at me. If his stare could kill, I'd be dead by now.

"Hey, kanina ka pa tahimik 'ah?" I quickly looked at him then I saw curiosity in his eyes.

"Uh, wala naman." I gulped then I smiled a little, "Wala naman din tayong pag-uusapan." I chuckled.

He was silent for good two minutes, then he finally talked. "What are your plans after high school?"

"Uhm, siguro maghahanap na ako ng trabaho. Wala naman din akong pang-college 'eh." I explained. "How about you? Ano mag-UAAP ka?"

Umiling siya, "No, I don't think so. Hindi ko na siguro siya i-pursue, gusto kong pumasok sa showbiz."

"Big time naman, pa-autograph in advance baka sumikat ka. Ay joke, sikat ka na pala kahit ngayon."

"Hindi 'no," he laughed. "I wanted to go out of my comfort zone."

"I know you can do it." I smiled and he mumbled 'thanks'. With his respond, I gave him a genuine smile.

I know he'll do great, I believe that he can reach his dreams and I can't wait to witness each one of them. The night ended really well, everybody had fun and I must say, it was a night to remember.

"Thank you for tonight, Dons." I stated after he turned the engine off, we are currently inside his car.

He grinned, "No problem, you know that I'll be here to accompany you." I smiled as I heard his statement. "And besides, I had a really great time. And I must say,  you're not a bad dancer for a first timer."

"Sira!" we both laugh our heads off, then for a while we went quiet.

Something inside me is bothered. I want to tell him. To tell him how I feel, I've liked him for a long time already. Siguro naman, kung sasabihin ko na itong nararamdaman ko ay mawala na itong bumabagabag sa akin. I want to tell him. I want to damn scream it that this guy next to me is the person that I like.

"I-is there something you want to say?" he asks, yung tipong may gusto siyang marinig mula sa akin. I can't construct a sentence about how I feel so I shook my head then I saw him nod.

As I gain my confindence again, "I should go, late na rin 'eh at baka hinahanap ka na nina Ma'am Maricel." I figured out that I should go home, but something inside me doesn't want to go anywhere. Just sitting next to him in complete silence.

As I was about to open the door of the car, he calls me out. "Sierra..."

I looked at his direction and I saw him slowly leaning towards me. I can feel myself tense with his action, his warm hand cupped my cheek and in a split second, our lips touched. I can feel the chapped lips he got, it was already his nature to have chapped lips and at first I thought it would be weird, but it felt great. His hands were so warm on my cheeks and I feel really safe. And with that, it felt like home.
