Annabel was woken up by the sun shining in her room. When she woke up her father almost had everything ready to go. Annabel saw the time, got dressed, and ran downstairs to help her father.
"Hi daddy," said Annabel. She was excited for the camping trip but wasn't really fond of sleeping outside in the woods. But she kept thinking to herself that nothing could ruin this day. There was not a cloud in the entire sky and she was with her father.
"I'm gonna need your help carrying some of this stuff, especially the food and water bottles," replied her father. She started grabbing bags and placing them on her back. They headed into the forest that was right next to her house. She didn't mind the 5 hour walk but it did take a while. At times they stopped by a lake for a drink. At other times she thought someone was following her and her father but when she turned around it was usually a bunny or squirrel. They finally stopped at a beautiful spot by a big lake. It had a great view of a sunset which Annabel couldn't wait to see. Until then her father noticed her staring into the woods.
"If you want to you can go explore by yourself. But come back within two hours," said her father. He started giggling once she was shocked she could finally go exploring by herself. She was waiting a long time for her father to say that considering she was 17.
"Thanks dad," replied Annabel. She hugged her dad then ran into the forest. She knew why her father wouldn't let her go by herself. It was because Annabel lost her mother and she knew her father couldn't stand to see something happen to her. Annabel enjoyed her time alone in the forest during the day. But she wanted to see if what she thought could be real.
She searched and searched but could find a specific tree she heard of. She had a half hour left until she had to be back at the camp. She sat down in front of a tree and listened to the wind blow in the forest. 15 minutes passed and Annabel started to get a little cold. As she got up she noticed that some leaves were covering something. She decided to move the leaves and she saw writing on the tree. It said, " This tree is the oldest tree in the forest. Most people know and care for this tree and that is because this tree proves that werewolves exist in this forest." Annabel started to freak out then ran back to the camp. She was scared of what she had just red. Then she noticed something moving in the bushes, she didn't stop she kept running for the camp sight. She had to be about 10 minutes away if she ran. But then something made her trip and fall. She turned around and got up. Then she turned back around towards the camp sight and saw wolves.
Annabel was so scared that she couldn't help but scream. Then the wolf howled and more wolves started to surround her.
"What do you want? I didn't mean to hurt your tree, please just leave me alone?" scared Annabel. There was no way for her to get out of this mess. All the wolves started growling at her until they turned there heads to the side. 6 more wolves came out only they jumped in front of the other wolves and started growling at them. Annabel was still scared but felt relieved that these 6 wolves were helping her. The leader of them wolves that was helping her howled and then tons more wolves came. The wolves that attacked Annabel left, they ran into the forest. The leader wolf that helped Annabel then looked at her.
"Please, don't hurt me," begged Annabel. She was so scared of what would happen next. But then the wolves left and let Annabel go to her camp. She ran without stopping, wanting to stay with her dad. When she finally reached the camp her father saw her so frightened but didn't say anything that just happened. She thought about the leader of the pack, the one that tried to kill her had a light brown fur while the one that rescued her had gray fur. She was grateful for the grey wolves help but was still scared.
It wasn't long before her and her father packed all there things and headed back home. It was only for one night but her father thought the sooner she was out of the forest, the better she would be. She didn't say a word the whole walk back. She was still to scared of what happened last night. She felt something near her neck and put her hand there. She found a bite mark on her neck and was wondering how she got it. When her father saw her placing her hand on her neck he decided to take a look at it when they got back to the house. He thought it was a Miskito bite.
After they were all done unpacking Brandon came knocking at the door. Annabel was relieved to see him. She couldn't wait to tell him everything she wanted to. Since Annabel was with friends her father let her go but was still worried about her. When she stepped outside she saw about 3 of his friends waiting for her. They went to the same tree Annabel found with the writing on it only she didn't noticed that was the tree. The way she now saw the forest was all of the trees being the same.
"You OK? You look a little shaky," worried Brandon. He pushed her hair behind her ear. He leaned in trying to kiss her. Annabel was about to kiss him to until she noticed yellow eyes in the bush. She froze and once Brandon noticed he turned around. He looked at his friends and moved his head towards the bush. Annabel unfroze after she saw them go in. She then got scared.
"Don't go in there!" screamed Annabel. She got up from the ground. She was scared when they stopped in front of the bush. His friends turned around to look at Annabel.
"Don't worry, were just going to get some water. We'll be right back," said Rocky. They headed in and Annabel was surprised she didn't hear them scream. She turned around and started walking towards her house. Brandon got up and followed her.
"Where are you going?" Brandon asked Annabel. She turned around and crossed her arms. She didn't really feel like talking to him all she wanted to do was get out of this forest.
"This forest has wolves in it and I'm scared, right now I don't want to be in this forest, especially at night," feared Annabel. She turned back around and continued walking towards home. Until she turned around one more time.
"Everything I thought was a myth is coming real, if that happened to you I bet you would be scared," said Annabel. Brandon somehow got right next to her. Annabel was surprised by how fast he got next to her considering she didn't hear him walk or run.
"How'd you do that?" scared Annabel. She was so scared that she didn't know what to expect. He didn't say anything for a while so Annabel decided to just keep walking and not turning around.
"Let me explain," begged Brandon. She continued to walk and prentended he didn't say anything. Then out of nowhere he grabbed her arm and gently pulled her back. She tried to get her arm out of his hand. She couldn't tell what was going to happen next. Then she thought of his birthday coming up.
"What do you want for your 18th birthday?" asked Annabel. She tried to forget about the forest, forget about the wolves, and forget about what Brandon just did. He didn't say anything, she was filled with more anger then she ever was before.
"First off, can I see a smile?" asked Brandon. Annabel couldn't help but cry. Then she heard wolves howling. She didn't feel like screaming or being with Brandon any more. She fainted after she heard the wolves howl. Especially when she heard them so close. Brandon then gently picked her up and brought her back to his home. He found Rocky, Nick, and all his other friends at his home. He laid Annabel on the ground and she was out for about two hours.
"Where am I?" asked Annabel. She woke up and found herself in a cave. She decided to walk outside the cave and try to see where she was. The cave was under the ground but the hole led out to the beautiful lake she once saw. On top of the cave she saw Brandon, some of his friends, and other people who she never knew. She tried to quietly sneek a peek until she slipped on a rock. She didn't fall but after it fell in the water everyone knew she was awake.
"Annabel?" wondered Brandon. He walked over to the front of the cave to find Annabel hanging. He quickly pulled her up before she fell in the water. She was scared to see all these people staring at her. She quickly hid her face on Brandon's chest.
"Brandon who are these people?" feared Annabel. She was scared to ask but she knew she needed to. She looked up at him while he look down at her.
"These are some people I know," answered Brandon. Annabel couldn't stand to see all these people staring at her. She looked up at him one more time to ask him a question.
"I wanna go home." begged Annabel. She started crying again but not as much as when she was with Brandon all alone in the woods. Brandon didn't really want to say anything but knew that sooner or later he would have to, so what better time to start then now.
